Yep. Crazy aunt stole some of my wife's decorations at the church. Got home and she was wondering where some of teh stuff went. Noticed a pew decoration hanging from her aunt's door the next time we went over there. Trashy.

Are you 100% positive it wasn't your wife?

Just kidding. That sucks. Something about having something stolen from you that makes you feel violated whether the money or item was that big of a deal or not.

I don't even remember having a gift table at our wedding. Everything was sent directly to our house which was nice. I'm sure there was one, but the amount of gifts was relatively small, so I never noticed.

I once laid an envelope with $100 cash in it at a table setup for wedding gifts at a reception. I never received a ty card and have always wanted to ask the dude, "well did you get my $100 or not"...Same thing with a $200 gift which was ordered online sent directly from Dillards to a family member. Never got a ty card for that either.

People that get wedding gifts and don't send out ty cards should all be punched in the face by a future frat member.

So is that a valid reason to punch a woman? Because you know it's the wife's responsibility to write the thank you cards.

Probably a nephew who was on drugs. This happens a lot. My family had to have an intervention one time during a reception when my cousin got caught red handed stealing gift cards at grannies ceremony to renew her vows. The poor lady at the VFW hall got berated for stealing by uncle Ken until the nephew got busted on the way home by his step dad.

Getting married in three weeks. Now double checking our security plan. Fiancee says we've got venue staff watching the gift table all night, then gifts will be moved to our vehicle.

Wondering if I should add a closed and/or locked box for the stand alone cards.

It did. Went straight to the bookstore on my way home. They didn't have the same edition, so it was bitch trying to figure out where I'd left off. That novel kicks arse. The mini-series was great, but the novel is, as usual, so much better.

I'm sure you have already asked but double check with your mom that she didn't take everything out "for safe keeping" while you were on your honeymoon. That is something my mom would have done, although the real reason would have been to see how much her relatives gave and to write the amount in her little book so she knows how much to give to reciprocate in the future.

I hope the venue had cameras or something!

Someone went into the Bridesmaid's room during our service and stole pretty much anything of value out of their purses. All of the cameras (which had pretty much all of the pictures from the rehearsal dinner the night before), any cash, cell phones. Completely sucked, and I always tell anyone I know that's getting married to make sure they get those rooms secured.
