POS driver charged for a mess that did not occur. Has anyone here disputed one of these? This is a fricking scam, and I feel like they intentionally make it difficult/a pain in the arse to dispute. The worst part is it can be anywhere from $20 to $150 and they only let you know about once they have already charged you. What’s to keep drivers from just dropping a pile of mud in their car and then charging you $150? Luckily mine was only $40 but this is bullshite and I’m heated.

Damn you're a dirty fricker to require a 40 dollar cleaning fee behind you, and not even knowing why

Maybe it was the steamer I left in the pocket behind the drivers seat, but I thought that was just proper etiquette in NOLA.

Trashiness needs to be an automatic penalty once you get out of the vehicle.

$40????

If i was wrongfully charged $40, i would try to get a ride from him again, and then shite in back seat of vehicle, preferably the squirts, and his charge back will be to a card i cancel 5 minutes into the drive for fraud detection. I'm not a nice person when you steal from me.

This has been discussed. In short , there’s little you can do . Uber almost always sides with the driver. Yes it’s a fricking scam that some drivers use. There’s even a reddit thread where a driver admits to doing this frequently to irritating customers.

Were you in a drunken state when you did whatever you did in the vehicle?

My friend in NOLA had this happen a few times. Now he takes a short video of the car when he exits.

Yes, and I’ve refused to use Uber since then. I walked over to a movie theater on Sunday afternoon. When I got out it was night and my route home turns into homeless central. So I get an Uber and a woman picks me up. She tells me that I’m her last ride for the night because she needs to get home to take care of her sick kid. I tell her I’m sorry about her kid and hope he gets better.

I wake up the next day with a $200 cleaning charge from Uber. She says that I vomited in the back of her car and had the picture to prove it. It immediately hit me that this count said that her kid was sick, so I put two and two together that her kid was the one who vomited in the back of her car and she decides to charge me for it. Uber decided to take her side because she said I was drunk at like 6:00 on Sunday evening in February despite me being clearly picked up in front of a movie theater. Fortunately Chase didn’t honor the charge and took my side on it. I have only used it since when ride sharing, much to my great reluctance.
