yep, first you need permission from the land owner.....youo can shoot all the nutrias you want..but you have to have a trapping licence to sell the tails

We used to make a trip with the trapper that hunts the duck lease after duck season every year. We would shoot 200-300 nutria in a weekend. It was crazy every time you made a corner they would have nutria sitting at the waters edge. Hit with some 12 gauge shot cut the tail and move on.

I think our record for the most off of one nest was around 15. They setup shop in one of the blinds. We pulled up to it and they started running down the dog ramp one at a time. We have three guys on the boat and we were taking turns shooting them as the others reloaded.

In the last two seasons we have noticed a huge drop in the number of nutria in the marsh. I guess that’s what happen when you average killing 2000 a year for a couple years.

I do miss those “hunts” but it’s good that the number of nutria is down.

Sorry i dont got the stomach for killing most living things. Even them big rats. I know makes me sound like a liberal. Now if we could bag some Liberals. Then i'd do that for free
