Just for a few months in 2017 and 2018 off and on. I still had a cell phone during. Most of that time. Except for the last couple months.

Glad to hear that you are doing better. The past is what it is my man.

When I was in my very early 20's, I dropped out of UA and became a vagrant for the better part of the year. I rode the rails and hitchhiked across the middle part of the country. Took a few weeks to make it from AL to the coast.

I met some real fricked up folks along the way. I was just being a rebellious little wannabe Kerouac frick, but some of these baws straight up scared me. Smoking meth and shooting up actual dope in the back of a freight train, using the stops at rail stations to raid the dumpsters of local grocery stores.

I had an acquaintance in college who spent his entire senior year intentionally homeless so that he could save up money for a move to the west coast. The guy lived in a tent at a state park and out of his car. He would shower at the Rec center on campus and ride his bike 3 miles back to the park after getting smashed at bars. In the inevitable severe winter storms and cold snaps, he would couch surf with friends for a few nights. My rent and utilities that year were $3,000 total fewer than 20 years ago. Weird guy.

Thanks.

Yeah I mean I'm fine about it. Just part of my journey I guess. I've built back a pretty good life in only 3 years. It can turn around in either direction pretty fast.

If you have any sense of the dramatic or humorous in the written word, I encourage you to put pen to paper. The shite gets weird, and being able to put it in a narrative can help alleviate the problems you encountered, and it can help entertain and inform.

Yeah me and the GF talked about writing a book for a long time...or trying to.

I'll share it with most anyone, but its not what defines me anymore. I'd rather talk about my chickens or cat or dog these days.

But you're not wrong. And if the opportunity presented itself I'd take it.

It is funny/sad though. I worked maintenance at a start up for a year in Tampa. Started my day off every single morning cleaning up human shite. I really do hate the homeless.

Did you respond to any "Is this trashy" threads during that time?

I always shite in a latrine of my own digging. I have a shy butthole, so it would usually take a few days before I had to carve out my private space a hundred yards from the rail line or interstate. I would have never desecrated a public space with my doodoo batter.

Probably. I mean as homeless goes I think I rocked it for awhile. I might have lived in a car, but it was a land rover.
