Not me but have a friend and a family member that battled depression. Best to have a therapist and also have friends or family to talk to. Don’t keep it bottled up. Exercise and getting outdoors can help too. Good luck. You can improve things and just know lots of people deal with depression and/or anxiety issues. Life can be hard at times and don’t beat yourself up.

I was diagnosed back in 2016 with both major depressive disorder and moderate anxiety.

My dr. prescribed wulbutrin xl. She started me off low and I eventually went a little higher on the mg per day. It helps a ton. Anxiety is manageable and depression comes and goes, but it less gripping.

What really helped was a counselor. Some people think therapy is dumb or makes you less of a person, but being able to just say what is on your mind without being judged really helps!

I'm currently trying to eat better and lose weight, b/c I hear those things help.

good luck

I was diagnosed with depression in 2015. I didn't really do anything, it just went away over time.

I tried pills but they made me feel funny. It was an SSRI but don't recall the name.

I was struggling and went to my primary care doc. She gave me a depression test - answered about 7 or so questions. Failed miserably.

Went on meds for depression and anxiety (at bedtime to help me sleep), and started seeing a therapist every 2 weeks to talk. Now I see her once a month.

Feeling a lot better. Get some help. It can be addressed.

yep.

Anxiety / depression. Hard to tell the difference at times.

I did counseling for several months before opting to start meds. SSRI's are a godsend.

I got addicted to exercise. Lifted HEAVY weight every day. and that shite helped a ton. But it didn't wipe it out. Some people need counseling. Most people do. Some people need meds. I let my pride stand in the way for a long time, but there is no telling where I would be if I didn't start.

If you can get a boner stuff enough to smash a hot Colombian chick while doing coke, then you clearly aren’t doing near enough coke.

Side effects and finding the right meds suck though

Can you elaborate? What medicine have you tried and what were the bad side effects?

Also, psychiatrist or psychologist?

Yes. Have been on meds in the past. I found a combination of meds and therapy did the best. Also can not emphasize enough that physical activity is extremely beneficial.

Very happy that you got the help you needed. I wish my exwife would have gotten help because we probably would still be married. Keep up the good work!

Go see your general physician. Nothing to play around with and it is not as abnormal as some people claim. Ask about gene testing. Could possibly be something that is not allowing serotonin to metabalyz. May be an easy fix with the right vitamins exercise and diet. Definitely talk with your general. No shame if meds are needs sometimes people need a little help to get through a rough time.
