Are you kidding? Open schools when both coronavirus and the flu are hot? You a tard?
Schools will stay virtual until Spring 2021 semester. Bank on it.

Apparently this is the one that are pushing for
Is that just for schools that did not do remote learning?

You can bet the private schools won’t do this. They’d lose most of their students.

This would be state wide

I guess there would have to be a massive spread/spike in late July or early August for me to think kids shouldn't go back-at least in my area. We've hardly been affected health wise by the disease in North Alabama so far.

We have been shut down for 5 weeks roughly, and you are asking about something more than 13 weeks from now?
As of today anyone that says they are against it, is full of crap. As of today, I think they should be able to reopen. Situations may change between now and then.

This is such bullshite. They waived the required minutes. The kids will be moving on to new classes next year. Will they pass legislature that requires a ton more minutes for one school year? Teachers are expected to be working from home (you can say they aren’t, I’m sure many aren’t, but I know many who are doing a ton from home) so are their contracts going to also be extended and their pay increased for the next contract period. I’m in education and know people very high up and have not once heard this mentioned. Everyone is assuming we will be back in August with the remote possibility of it being prolonged if a spike in cases happens between now and then. If someone doesn’t want to send their kid back to school they will be welcome to homeschool.

Let's just all make sure that movie Idiocracy comes sooner than later. Sure sounds like some people want that.

Literally discussed today, with my department in a Zoom.
I'm IT so it is imperative that we stay informed and ahead of anything that happens

Hours haven't changed for me or the wife at this point. We've been working as if nothing happened. Been very blessed to be essential.
