All I got were a few Indian (dot not feather) earthquake engineers from San Fran and a Jewish engineer that I never figured out his specialty.

Decent enough guys, but made me realize CE was not for me. Wanted to eat a bullet every day.

Pipe Designers 1 were getting $28/hr around 2010

That's probably not far off from the current rate. Plus lots of OT available, at least where I'm at there is.

Fresh out of college in what? Design pipe...like run CAESAR models and tell them what thicknesses and supports/anchors locations they need?

I work in the field and I wasn't aware there were pipe designers. You just buy what you need COTS and get welders to make what you tell them.

CAESAR is Piping/Stress Engineering. Design handles details, routing, optimizing, safety, and general plant layout.

I have an associates in this. Never used it because I decides to go in oilfield and make bank for a decade. Tried to get a pipe design job but found a small civil engineering firm to work for and it's been great. Helps they were accepting in my returning to school at LSU so I can get a engineering degree.

Probably the same company. They are worldwide and deal in all sorts of projects. HQ is out of San Fran.

I dont know anyone that hires entry/Level 1 but if you keep your wits and work hard you can make a pretty good paycheck. Piping Design is the nost volitale of the plant design process and is the reason for many contractors. Once a contractor, always a contractor... remember that. There is zero job security in contracts.
