I heard him on a few podcasts and have listened to some of his own Podcast episodes. Always enjoyed him.

Recently purchased his book, “Blink” and am blown away by it. It’s absolutely fascinating to me.

I’m already almost done after two days. For those who have read his books, what would you recommend of his to read next?

Most people don’t know this but the main character from Breaking Bad got his start on that show.

Blink is a great book.

It’s pretty interesting study in there that citizens are much safer when cops patrol solo.

Chances of someone getting shot escalate quickly when two cops are together.

I like his books and his Revisionist History podcast.

I don’t agree with a lot what he says and he is definitely a hard core liberal with a strong beliefs in “social justice”.

That said, he is not an a-hole about it and for the most part is fair and makes reasonable points for his side. Even when I strongly disagree, I can at least see where he is coming from.

His Revisionist History episodes on the Montgomery race riots and Brown vs Board of Education cation were very well done and raised points I had not previously considered.

read Blink and Tipping Point.

Interesting reads, but some call pseudo-psych bullshite. I just think he is good at describing social behavior patterns that many of us have also observed in passing glance, but he put his own analysis/spin on it.

Tipping Point is pretty good. What the Dog Saw is a collection of his essays and I think is a solid read.

Might not always be, "right" but his books are enjoyable and certainly make you think.

Maybe that’s where some of the strong hate against him in this thread stems from? I didn’t know a lot about his political beliefs. I had only heard a few podcasts with him and then this book, which he doesn’t dive into anything political (or hasn’t so far).

I’ve never enjoyed any extremist, whether they are heavily right or left, so if that starts to shine through in his work then it would effect my enjoyment of it.

Looks like Tipping Point or Outliers is what I need to look into to decide for the next one.

I don’t think Gladwell is an extremist.

That’s why I enjoy him.

I think a lot of people (both left and right) just hate and refuse to even listen to an opposing viewpoint.

Gladwell at least tried to be fair even though his work does skew left.
