re: Any current or former Hooter's managers here?

I worked at Pappadeaux during each summer while in college. This was 95-99 and they had a very strictly enforced "4th drink" policy where a server and bartender must consult with one of the managers before the fourth drink, and any additional alcohol after that, is served. They took that shite very seriously, I had seen a few people get fired from not following this.
I'd be shocked if they don't still have it firmly in place.

I'm not getting fired because you wanna drink and drive after sitting there for 4 hours sipping bud light.
Only way you could get in any trouble for someone drinking and getting in an accident after leaving your place is if they were underage and you served them anyway, at least in Louisiana

You see it a lot when insurance companies dont have enough business in a state or area to justify having their own attorney so they hire it out.

Man!! Did it happen to be the Hooters on San Jose in Jacksonville. I walked up there last night to meet my brother-in-law and his wife and another couple. This was at about 9:30. Literally within five minutes of me getting there a manager came to the table and had the EXACT same talk. Could possibly fit your Kenny Loggins description too. Crazy. Interesting timing if it was purely due to policy. We had pretty much no doubt it was so they could sell the table for the fight. In fact, they said the manager had come by earlier on and asked them if they were there for the fight. Some BS.
And I never even got one damn beer.

$5-$10k to defend the suit, even though they know it will not hold up in court so what's the best option?
If that is true (and I'm not saying it's not) the insurance company is dicking the restaurant more than the plaintiffs lawyer.
I could file and MSJ and get that thing thrown outta court for less than a thousand.
I would love to bring you into the deep water that is the Florida dram shop laws, Barrister. The good news for you is that you will bill more than $1k. The bad news is that your client will hate you when the case is all said and done.

As someone who is currently extremely intoxicated my opinion is America is pussified. Just like here in Australia. Can't buy doubles or shots. But in Jakarta they will serve you as long as you can stand and sign the tab #makeamericagreatagain

You live in Australia? I'm jealous

I don't think so. Order some more wings or gtfo.
You either don't actually work at the Hooters location you referenced or you really DGAF about the brand of the company that employs you.

Yes, I'm serious. We just found out about it. No plan to really use it though.

Hooters and Twin Peaks can get squirrely.
But the OP and friends must have been pounding to make a manager notice during UFC night. And who cares you cheap arse. Order some chips and queso. You probably needed them.
