I have 2 smaller bathrooms. Anyone knows a Honduras guy that would take a cash job?

Look for a Bosnian. We used a Bosnian for the bathrooms at my SLC house. Cost <10K each. Of course Bosnians do excellent quality, but they cannot be called fast by any means.

might try the home & garden board.

i recently did this; mexican guy said he would do it for $5K but i would have to handle the material choices and he would save receipts of the stuff he had to purchase.

material ran about $5k (title bathroom, custom shower, closed in a wall and made an alcove, etc.) so about $10k all in.

ETA, here was our mess and final product so you can see what we got for the money:

Bad idea. Plenty of good Honduran roofers but just because a guy comes across the border and does cheap labor does not mean he knows how to remodel a bathroom.

If you plan on selling the house anytime soon, it's a good investment fwiw. You'll get your money back if done right.

AI is scary it would have looked even closer to the AI version if we hadn't changed our mind on the floor tile at the last minute. we originally wanted a brighter, more retro terrazzo and ended up going with a more natural stone/muted version.

keep in mind AI came up with that suggestion from that same shitty photo i posted in this thread.

we just fed the dimensions of the bathroom in, kinda what we were thinking for fixtures and took a few pics of tile we liked and it created that.

Hired a hispanic and got the whole room floor to ceiling redone for 6k

Look for a Bosnian

How does one go about this? Do they advertise that or you just have to ask?

I prolly shouldn't have posted that. SLC has a large Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian pop. It was easy there. Missouri and Iowa states also have huge populations. South LA, a few Croatian, but not many. If you live in an area with them, just takes Slavic name recognition or, like me, have a Slavic wife.

Man, looks good. Don't know if I am quite sold on the green tile, but it is yours and not mine. You like that color, then I am extremely glad you got exactly what you wanted.

jhe did a great job. i ended up tipping him $300 because i want him to remember us and do more jobs in the future

also a little smoke and mirrors, lots of inexpensive stuff from amazon (sink/faucet combo, showerhead, lights, generic home depot toilet) and we hate the stamped ceilings in the house so that's just beadboard that he nailed to the ceiling.

the hard things (to me anyway) was moving that wall over and redoing it to make that little alcove and removing the hallway door and replacing it with drywall.

that alcove used to be a very very VERY shallow hall closet which we could fit nothing into so he removed the door and trim and patched it with drywall and made it into bathroom shelves with a TON of room now for guest room bedding, towels, etc.

thats cute that you think i make decisions.

that was my wife's idea and i wasn't sold either but it turned out ok. she found a 'clearance stack' of those green tile and was ALL IN. i liked the price so i went with it.

Just renovated a master bath and hall bath for a little less that $20k self contracting the master and doing demo myself and doing the whole hall bath myself including shower to tub conversion. Selling house for 46k more 2 years later. It’s worth it!

I knew that. Was being nice to a fellow husband who watched his wife pick out all the tiles, toilet, sink and eveything else for the remodel.

That’s amazing! I just asked AI to suggest a new landscaping plan for my house. It said to send a photo of the house and it would be done!
