Sorry if I hurt your feelings baw. And Iike I said, I'm a believer in physics, probability, and I do trust the experts. Nothing emotional about it. I just get frustrated that because this whole thing has become so politicized, in my opinion, it's making everything worse.

You realize the experts all disagree on everything virus related, right? It's not about experts lol it's about selectively choosing which experts you want to believe. None of us really know anything definitive so you're just projecting.

So you're basing your "there's already herd immunity" belief on literally no actual data tying back to infection and recovery rate, and completely dismissing the fact that these locations had the highest adherence during the shutdown and continue to follow safe distancing and mask wearing rules?

quote:

Look at NYC, Michigan etc

Deaths are way TF down.

Massachusetts has had days with zero deaths.

So assuming your herd immunity thing was actually the case. In NYC, Michigan, and Massachusetts alone the population is 25.4 million people.

For herd immunity we'd need:

quote:

Experts estimate that in the U.S., 70% of the population — more than 200 million people — would have to recover from COVID-19 to halt the epidemic.

25,400,000 x 70% = 17,780,000 people in those areas have or have had the virus...or approximately 3 million more cases than have been tracked in the entire world thus far? Excuse me if I'm going to call BS on that.

Do you really want elections decided by a few states with the highest population numbers?
Do you really want elections where the value of your vote depends on where you live?

And something tells me your tune would change dramatically if the scoring system which allows the losing candidate to win happened to favor the other party.

I would be curious to hear from those experts who say that distancing isn't important, we shouldn't be wearing masks, and just exposing everyone to the virus through business as usual is the way to go.

I'm serious. I'd like to hear/read their thoughts and justification.

List the states most compliant with their local mandates and prove the efficacy

List the states least compliant and prove non-efficacy

List states by death rate

Prove that you're not a rambling idiot making stuff up like many of my friends do

R0 is a function of behavior and the % immune.

Of course lower R0 after vaccine. Ppl are immune.

herd status in US

European countries seen deaths drop 95% plus. At 30% or less infected. T cell immunity from prior Coronavirus infections might make sense.

herd immunity timeline

Varies depending where in US.
Northeast got hit.
Now Florida and Texas
Etc we are just a massive country.

Michael Levitt 2013 chemistry Nobel prize winner.

Dr Levitt called 5-6k dead in Sweden in early May. Sweden at 5550 or so. With single digi deaths each day. It's over there.

Oh. You've just decided that Biden is more popular based on your emotions?

That's definitely better.

A better way to do it would be to look at stuff that's actually documented. Mask mandates and the like.

quote:

Here are the 10 states with the most COVID-19 restrictions, according to the analysis:

1. Illinois

2. Rhode Island

3. District of Columbia

4. Massachusetts

5. Vermont

6. Hawaii

7. Washington

8. New Mexico

9. New York

10. Michigan

And for the "herd immunity" rebuttal, I did actual math based on actual data. You want do anything like that?

Fixed. America, sadly, is a shell of its former self. There’s a reason why other countries think we are fat, stupid, ignorant, and lazy. An alarming percentage of Americans resemble catfish - they are bottom feeders. They are stupid, lazy, selfish, and of no use nor do they offer any redeeming qualities to the rest of functioning society.

Probability of transmitting the virus as a carrier between two people when both are wearing masks and distanced vs. neither wearing a mask and not following distancing suggestions.

... because we use a scoring system which discards the voices of huge chunks of the population.

Like I said, the people who love the way it works would quickly change their tune if this system happened to favor the other party. That's how you know it's a little fricked up.
