Ok OP I'll bite although I 'm growing tired of hysterical conservatives. Just how popular is the campaign to change this flag? Is one person upset? Three? Is this really a thing?

Mississippi and Georgia have actual Confederate flags as state flags. I wouldn't sweat this if I were Maryland.
No they don't.
If you don't know that the GA state flag is the Stars and Bars, an official national flag of the Confederacy, then you simply don't know what you are talking about.
Mississippi has a battle flag blatantly on it yes but Georgia's is a bit more audacious in my opinion. Let's not leave out Alabama and Florida either. Both of these flags are based on the Naval flag of the confederacy.

This helmet, alone, should be enough to mandate a change.

That's an ugly flag, I'd want it outlawed too

You can never give in to these people. Once they smell blood in the water, it's over. Tell them to piss up a rope. What are they going to do about it?
We're reaping what we sewed. Instead of good people with common sense standing up 25 years ago when this BS really got rolling standing up and saying "yeah, this doesn't need to be an official state symbol" people just regurgitated the "heritage" argument.
The flag didn't go into wide use in 1877 to honor confederate veterans.
Georgia added the confederate flag to it's state flag in 1956. It went over at the South Carolina state Capitol in 1961. Both were in protest to desegregation. In 1948 it gained popularity as a symbol of the Dixiecrats whose big issue was.....
It was popularized more by the second incarnation of the KKK than the first.
We had the chance to stop the nonsense that we're living through now - and good people at best did
Nothing and at worst repeated the "heritage" bulls--t!
And now, legitimate monuments that do honor the heritage of rank and file confederate soldiers who honorably "fought for their state" are under attack. The legacy of a good man like Robert E Lee is under attack.
So yes, what's going on now has gone way to far with the SJW types. We let it happen.

People need to stand up and realize that the ONLY difference between hysterical conservatives and SJWs is the flavor of the Kool Aid.
90% of those who "supported" both Hillary and Trump did so because of ignorance. The only valid reason these folks had for voting for either candidate was that it was a vote against the other one.

I hate the confederate legacy and confederate apologist talking points with a passion.
But come the frick on......this is ridiculous now.

My older daughter's second grade class had to do a state project.
One part was drawing the state flag accurately. The kids didn't get to choose a state, it was assigned to them; she ended up with Maryland. My girl finished everything but the flag, and was telling me her friends had said it was their favorite part of the project, what they did first.
She took one look at it and blurted out 'This is bullshite.'
I laughed. Apparently not the right reaction, according to my wife, but I had to agree.

You should have told her the hat was crossing out the state of Alabama. She sounds dumb enough to fall for it.

Take down any confederate statues. That will solve everything. Just look at how good NOLA is doing since they took them down
