But the point I was making is those two lived here almost their whole life. They looked to be perfectly normal, poster children of what moderate "Americanized" muslims are supposed to be.

There are over 5 million Muslims living in the US today. If they were really all that bad we'd have much more than one or two attacks a year.
Just like we have millions of gun owners in the US. It isn't surprising a handful of them are nutcases but that says nothing about the responsible people.
