Nice scene around my house. Station 6, Zocala; Brasa, Blueline; Conola, Byblos, Rock-n-Sake, Porter and Lukes, Mama Thais and a bunch of great sandwich shops like Nor-Joes, Radostas, Bears, R&Os

Add Fury’s, Fausto’s, Ristorante Filippo, Cypress, and Nephew’s to that as well.. Last two a little further away though..

I've never understood why a business would want to make a public political stance. There aren't many businesses that I can think of where you wouldn't risk alienating or upsetting some of your customer base. I'd just shut the frick up and take no stances on anything.

You are totally dismissing some great Italian, Mexican and Vietnamese places

“Great” for Metairie because the standards are low? Or legitimately great-great?

At best, most of Metairie has average food with decades-old concepts

I can’t think of many places worth driving there for.

Brasa, Blueline & Station 6 are solid.. the rest are uneventful or fried food/po boy places like I said

That’s not really a hot take.

I lived in Metairie for a while. It’s bread & butter is mom & pop/lunch/Poboy. The food scene has been stagnant for a while & it’s not really out of the ordinary because that’s what works in the suburbs

I'm with you, but I think a lot of people don't think "black lives matter" is a "political stance".

Yeah thats mostly it. Some good Italian because of all the Italians.

Korea House and Shogun are legit though.

And all the Hispanic places since the storm

We get our opinions confirmed on here and we think we're the majority who control things. Funny sometimes.

In Kenner tho, bra. Even farther removed from civilization.

The bar scene in Metairie speaks to the desolation ever more so.

I absolutely hate to agree with Lester but anyone trying to argue for Metairie restaurants is...facing an uphill battle.

There is very little in the way of good, interesting food in Metairie. I can probably count on one hand.

Daiwa is SUPER legit.
Station 6
I like Equator even though its nothing special.

Food doesn’t have to be interesting, it just has to be good

How much do you want to bet St.James will still be open next year. I doubt a majority of their clientele is represented in people who post on the OT.

Probably right. I don’t need flyers in a window to never step foot in a place like that.
