Here's the thing - I get this.
Also the thing - it's the at least partially the product of thousands and thousands of people who align with you ideologically publicly calling for their deaths on social media, in person at protests, etc.
Which leads me to the honest part of this - what would you suggest? And I think your suggestion will be "it's part of the job." Of course, you know guys making 80-100k doing incredibly important work on our behalf while people cheer for their deaths probably aren't going to do that if they're required to make themselves even more vulnerable.
Which means less guys will do that work, which is probably want you want.

Expect more of these events. They have to keep this in the news until mid summer. They need everyone to be emotional about this when the campaigning starts for mid term elections.
Personally I don't give a shite about any of it. If it impacted my daily life I would care more about it, but why waste energy with this if you can't do anything about it?

The gang member shot in Portland after ramming an ICE vehicle multiple times had a deportation order in 2024.
