It is what it is. Can't change the past via crying on a message board.

he still had more rocks man.

Was this guy a damn stone mason or something? I couldn't really see more rocks in the video, which brings me to my next point, the other real crime here is not filming this thing in the proper orientation.

not to mention innocent bystanders who could have been hit by these idiots firing and missing at close range.

Like in NYC when cops hit some bystanders and tried to charge the suspect for it?

that was going to be my first response to the video before I actually watched and audibly exclaimed "What the frick!?" In my office.

But that's a pretty normal occurrence for me, so no one has asked what happened.

We don't have to act like being anti-cop overreach and anti-crime are mutually exclusive. I doubt many people would object to this guy getting a arse beating by cops in subduing him for his conduct.

It's clear that the culture is fricked up. I think most of us, even those of us willing to use weapons to defend ourselves or our family or property, wouldn't go "oh shite, a rock, time to die fricker." That's a learned response.

Well im on the fence. The guy could have had mental illness, so thats a big question. The cops are said to have tried a stun gun. They are the ones trained to do what they did. I understand your reasoning about someone throwing rocks at me and my first response wouldnt be to shoot them. But if they were attacking me and my family then who knows. For every action there is a consequence, this guy chose to attack police, his consenquence was he got shot. Police chose to shoot the guy, their consenquence will be paid vacation until investigation is over.

that is the case in most states...if you robbing a bank and one of your buddies or cops kill a banker you well get a charge for that as well...

I love comments like this. Like the average cop involved in a shooting like this has a daily routine that looks like Fallujah.

So if someone threw a rock at you and you shot him dead, Would you be convicted of murder?

Manslaughter, probably. Imperfect self-defense. Unless maybe the guy had a really good arm.

Its not like the guy was in the middle of the intersection spraying innocent people with automatic weapons.
