Not a bomb but an incendiary device? OK....wtf does that really mean?

Yeah that doesn't really make sense because usually incendiary devices are used in bomb making.

twitter is good for scenarios like this but the hashtags are cringeworthy

Ya, it is quite the strange look for Austin PD to hashtag #packagebombkiller

Someone shipping packages shouldn't be difficult to track

If the suspect used a outdoor drop off box in a busy location, and got has shipping labels with a throwaway online account that he accessed with public WiFi sitting in a car out of sight it will be real difficult to determine who sent them.

Ya, an incendiary device to me means a device with a nefarious purpose. That tweet made it sound like we shouldn't even care about this incident because it was
"just an incendiary device".

Kaczynski had what, 4 or 5 bombs go off over a decade? Austin is a minefield right now, never seen or heard of anything like this.

The DC Sniper was very very effective. Tons of fear.

I distinctly remember people ducking down inside their cars while pumping gas and walking in irregular patterns just to go inside a store. The fear of the unknown was highly effective.

Are you some kind of retard? The DC Sniper was very very effective. Tons of fear. That’s why we’re still talking about it 15 years later.

But apparently they were just dummies.
Stop spinning and follow dumbass.

16 from 78-95 before he was caught in 96. 3 fatalities.

So is it safe to assume the one just found near Goodwill was shipped with the ones that detonated at the FedEx distribution center last night.

Apparently the one at Goodwill isn't related at this point.

It strikes me as a copy cat without bomb making skills or a prankster trying to cause chaos. I think it's unconfirmed but it was reported that this one was in a goodwill donation box.

UPDATE: There was no package explosion in the 9800 block of Brodie Ln. Items inside package was not a bomb, rather an incendiary device. At this time, we have no reason to believe this incident is related to previous package bombs. #Breaking #packagebombmurders

Just for giggles this guy probably threw a lit flare in a good will box.

Sure, but if the police were just trying to say, "Hey, some random thing that catches fire but wasn't done on purpose" they should have just said so.

Saying, it wasn't a bomb, but an incendiary device is quite muddled to the average person.

What scares me about this entire case and all the publicity and national news is it will inspire some kinda copycat.

Indeed. At least that may get the gun kids back in the classrooms.

I imagine Amazon sales in Austin are plummeting right now.
