That's because he is scouring the internet for any video he can find of white male children getting rocked by adults to somehow prove he is "equal opportunity".

What is more believable? That's those three people are connected, or that a mother and child just happen to be at a mall and leaving at the same time this situation took place? Those are both very equally plausible. Occam's razor does not apply here.

No, they aren’t equally as plausible. The male in the situation is more likely to risk physical or legal trouble to protect family rather than the bystanders are random people of the same race that just so happened to be in the area during the altercation.

It came up on a FB feed tonight and I thought “huh, see, it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with kids that act like hoodlums then try to play victim when they get what is coming.” I scoured nothing

I don't find it plausible that an unrelated woman and child were just standing around in the middle of all that. You guys have been arguing that the man should have simply walked away. If that was an option for him then it was surely an option for an unrelated party and I have a hard time believing that a mother with her child would willingly hang out in that mob if they didn't have any connection.

go to bed, Patch

As I've said all along, let us find out more facts about the situation, and then we can have a more educated discussion

You have really gone off half-cocked through a pair of whacked threads and into this one.

According to his lawyer:
quote:

Banzhoff said Bell, who was at the mall with his family, was leaving a bookstore when "he observed a large pack of youths harassing a woman." The lawyer did not say in what manner the woman was being harassed.Bell asked bookstore staff to call security and told the youths to "break it up," Banzhoff said.

He said Bell escorted the woman through a mall exit and the youths followed, encircling him and blocking his ability to leave. Some taunted him and yelled threatening remarks, the attorney said.

I seriously cannot wrap my head around your logic. I mean, why the frick aren’t you directing ANY blame towards the little pack of shits that instigated the whole damn thing? So basically, if a pack of assholes like the one in the video are trying to start some shite, I should just tuck my tail and GTFO? Why should I have to tuck my tail and run because some little group of assholes doesn’t know how to act? You are giving too much power to these types of shitheads

The main issue with it is how brutal the punch and fall and the size discrepancy makes it appear.

BUT he tried yelling to back them away first to no avail and then a less forceful measure of pushing the girl away - she flew back ten feet and then got right back up and came at him.

One logical way to analyze reasonableness of force is if less forceful measures are attempted first and fail, requiring an escalation of force. Here, there really wasn’t any less forceful measure available, having yelled and then strongly shoved the attacked back with zero effectiveness.

I’ve seen this referenced in several threads but can’t find the original thread to know what it’s about. What’s the deal.

I see this thread is completely off topic now, but as for the OP:

I would honestly beat my kid into submission if he acted like that to someone. How embarrassing. And good for that guy as well...restrained himself for a long time, and even explained calmly to the kid what would happen if he kept it up. And also didn't get overly violent...just used enough force to remove the threat.

Hope the little shite learned something. But I would bet that he did not. His real fear screams and fake tears were entertaining though.
