In order for the shooting to be in any way justified the cop has to have a REASONABLE fear for his safety or the safety of others.
No one would reasonably fear a person who was laying still doing nothing.
Some yall need to either learn the law or shut the frick up.

I don't either. The correct procedure there with more than one LEO is for one person to cover them with a weapon while the other does a quick field search and cuffs them.

He was a kid that had been a cop less than 2 years and the department suited him up in tactical gear and gave him an AR15 and improper and negligent training and them just set him loose on the public.

This "feared for their life " as justification is ridiculous, I thought being a cop was supposed to be a hazardous job, fearing for you life is part of it. If that is the standard we are going to use then we should abolish fire departments, no need for them to fear for their lives just to save someone's property, if there happen to be someone in the burning building too bad, they shouldn't be asked to risk their lives, they have a right to go home ever night. I used to have a job were there was a 1 in 4 chance I would die every time I did it, I feared for my life, but it was what I signed up for.

The cop was definitely quick on the trigger and should have used much better judgment, but I'm guessing they didn't approach him and try to cuff him while he was laying on the ground because at that point they don't know if someone else is still in the room with a gun, and approaching him would have put them in the doorway of the hotel room.

No he didn't . Again IF the cop can reasonably say he feared for his safety , the shooting is justified. A jury was convinced......... That is our legal system. Calling it murder after the verdict is just retarded.

The guy was clearly in a position to be cuffed for several minutes. The cop waited for a threat. How long are you expected to follow different orders while fearing for your life, after being threatened to be shot by SEVERAL officers.
They manufactured this threat. A reasonable person would have not felt threatened by this guy crawling with tears in his eyes and piss in his pants. Coo should have got his rocks off enough by that but no, he had to blast him.
