He won't answer that question as it will shatter his gay clown house of - animal was a threat and this was justified.

That didn't answer the question. Not asking if you would've killed the cop.

So again, how would you expect someone to respond if approached by a dog in such manner?

Do you believe the dog posed such a serious threat to the “trained” officer that it warranted the discharging of his firearm in the direction of children?

Not directed to me, but "no," and that is by far the biggest issue in this picture.

Your answer should be because your mental capacity is so primal you only know to kill or not. Your credit is gone. Keep thinking that dog posed a life threatening situation. Go back to getting off to pit bull videos.

If you can’t handle a hyper lab you shouldn’t be a cop.
Cop is a pussy and needs to turn in his badge.
The dog isn’t gonna steal his gun

For all the hysteria by the it's the cops fault crowd, I haven't seen one reply yet that made sense.

Most give some equivalent Joe Biden response of just shoot them in the leg drivel.

And to say the owner should have done more is just a bridge too far for them.

Also, I'm not saying the cop was completely justified either.

The answer is, based on your knowledge and experience with dogs, and this particular situation, had you been carrying a gun, would you have shot the dog? The answer is going to be overwhelming no, if being honest, and most likely get back in my car.

I suggested using pepper spray. Most experts recommend using mace over a gun to deter a charging bear. I would think it would be just as effective to deter the 60lb family dog

I gotta side with the cop on this one. Cop tried to back away and dog kept going after him.

The assumes the cop knew no one else was at risk in proximity. IOW, he doesn't know there isn't a 4Y old on tricycle coming up the other side of the street.

IMO, firing with a child down range was reckless.

Any dog can bite. Capable, cool-headed people have many more options than resorting to shooting them.

You can only ascertain the cop has zero awareness other than being a panicking idiot. His brain has absolutely zero concept of the children in front on him or hypothetical tricycle riders lol. If that dog, and it wasn't, were to actually jump up and attack him, he would have fired a bullet in the direction of those kids without hesitation, trying to hit the dog, with no thoughts other than himself. Stop trying to defend it. The guy, given what we all can see clear as day, should not have fired his gun.

Did you watch the dog charge him full speed from across the yard, the cop retreat for about 10 feet and then finally shoot?

I would have done exactly like I did 3 weeks ago, when a pit mix ran up to me barking while I was walking construction equipment on the road. I extended my hand for dog to smell me and talk calmly to dog. That dog came outta no where and scared crud outta me but I didn’t panic.

I’m not a cop hater and I’m a back the blue fella but this cop had zero awareness.

Why even give this cop a taser or mace to carry? He clearly won’t ever use those on a human if a family dog with its family gets killed by him.

Therefore, you’re wrong. And weak and gay.

And I spent money to have my dogs fenced in when we had them. They didn't roam around and charge at people. They were also never shot at. When they left the yard, they were on leashes.

How about the dog owner take some responsibility if they love their dog that much.

Everyone wants to blame someone else in this world. Own your mistakes.

Irony of the OT.

If this was a Pitbull, the cop would have been a hero. Since it's a lab the cop is a villain.

This is the truth. Our dog is never off leash in our front yard (Unless he "breaks jail" and slips under the fence or the mowers leave the gate open (which has only happened 4 or 5 times in the 9 years we've live here.)) In the back yard where we have a fence, he's got free roam.

Other people don't know your animal. Control them for their own safety.
