Not to offend, but the funniest thing about the whole fighting nature of the thread...

I get the feeling neither party has ever had to fight when more than pride was on the line.

And realistically, neither likely knows how to defend from an attack using a melee weapon.

Oh well, Ill say the same thing a buddy of mine told four "bikers" who tried to take his bike at a stop light... I deal in hot rocks, fighting is a young man's game.

I'm very glad to have not had to come to that since the 80's. I've seen some situations that could have turned sideways in a hurry but thankfully it never came to it. But don't doubt that when the chips are down I'd stand with my brothers if need be.

Like I told them last night, their idea of a fight and my idea of a fight are totally different. The days of meeting Johnny behind the gym after school ended for me over 25 years ago. Fights are terrible things that more often than not leave people with things like knife wounds, caved in skulls, or bullet holes. No thank you. The only things that could get me to fight would be a matter of life and death for myself, my family, or my brothers. It's not a game and I have no desire to prove anything to anyone. Proving shite is as you say a "young man's game".

Ummm murder drugs and cars to pitbulls? really?

It's not pointless, It's a breed. By definition man created it with whatever characteristics it has that lead it to such deadly attacks. We either allow idiots to continue to propagate this public menace or we don't. The simple solution then is to eliminate the breed that man made. They are plenty of other breeds out there to choose from.

Hard to argue with these stats:

Pit bulls have no place on this earth. If I see one in my yard I shoot it. No questions asked.

You're feelings about me could not be more incorrect. I conceal carry daily (including today), own numerous firearms from pistols, shotguns, rifles (even the dreaded "assault" variety!), and have begun to hand down and teach my son to be a responsible gun owner as well.

But there is a key difference between guns and pits. There is 0 change any of my firearms will break out of it's case, go over to my neighbor's yard and rip out the throat of their preschooler while they play with their toys. Can't say the same for pits.

wont work. you can "ban" it all you want, but you won't get rid of the breed. you'd have a better chance at making the penalties for the liability of owning one so harsh, few would be willing to risk owing one. How would you go about banning the breed anyway? Would you go confiscate all the PBs and euthanize them? What about the ones you don't know about? think the same types of people who have them now, won't breed them and sell them for (bigger) profits? I get that your emotional about this (even though I don't truly understand your angst) but the ban thing is just silly.
