the ones that do this, along with grading papers at home, are idiots. Youre not getting paid for those hours. Do it during contract hours. I dont take shite home. When 3:10 hits im done. When May 24th rolls around im home until august 3rd or whenever the hell they tell me to come back.

This board - “Gen Z is the worst.”

Also this board - “why are teachers that deal with Gen Z every day excited for the end of school year?!”

The semester I worked as a para before getting a teaching job I worked with a math teacher that would come in complaining about how she was "up until 11 grading papers" constantly. I just chuckled to myself because there was an easy solution to that.

Tipping as a way to increase revenue for a company and not paying the workers directly is a horrendous practice.

The problem here is most people cannot handle the short term pain for the long term gain.

I work with teachers on the regular.

1. Attendance is absolute crap. If kids don't attend, they don't learn, and they bomb test. Teachers are blamed for crappy parents who let their kid miss 20-30 times a year. There is no parental accountability on school attendance.

2. Parents have compartmentalized their childs raising. It's the schools job to educate them, and they shouldn't have to work with them at home. Schools are filled with children whose parents won't read with them or to them to help them get ahead. Schools have also quit sending home homework because it never gets done. All this amounts to more failing scores and teachers held accountable for crappy parents.

3. Parents no longer believe their child could mess up. When they do get in trouble its the teachers fault not the parents, no matter what evidence you have. I have helped my children's teachers because first meeting I tell them I have your back and if my child gets in trouble I will bust their arse. They aren't infallible perfect kids, they are shits who will mess up and if my kid is wrong I'm going to hold them personally responsible.

4. They get paid for a 180 day contract but now days admins are making them work 190-210 days with all their stupid summer Inservice crap. They also spend a lot of their own salary buying crap the school district should be paying for which means even less take home pay.

5. There are to many made up admin positions making it harder on teachers. Education worked when you had a principle and assistant who led a group of teachers. Also there are to many poor principles filling those positions. Any idiot with a masters degree, which is to easy to obtain, can get a job. Our high school principle is the biggest idiot and sucks at her job and teachers hat working with her because she puts her inability to do her job on their backs to make herself look good for the school board and community.

Bingo, we have several teachers in our family and they're horrible procrastinators.

It takes 2 months to get a classroom ready?

It took my wife about a week when she was first hired on and her classroom was bare. She didn't step foot at school the entire summer afterwards.

I did.

Generally miserable during the week but fricks like a rabbit. I think because all of her friends are also teachers she is always ruminating on her job. I don't hang out with anybody from work on a regular basis. When I'm with my friends work is the furthest thing from my mind. We talk about hunting or the dump truck on the woman up the street.

Also true in most cases.

So what percentage of parents are shitty, in your opinion?

So when they "increase funding" for schools is that where the money goes?

You ever deal with 150 teenagers a day? Do you see the videos of these said teens on Tik Tok and other places? Most of the regular people can’t even control their own teen much less a class with 35. Sub one day and you might get it. Try McKinley HS baw.
