I appreciate it - he was with us for part of the day, but the dementia makes it tough to keep him "there" and he just wanders off into his own head. was a nice day and was happy to have the tie to spend with him.

Just following up here. My dad's received at least 25 spam calls today asking if he's diabetic. I would've never believed someone could get this many spam calls in a day. At this point he's fricking with the call center people. He's gotta check his blood sugar 16 times a day, lost several toes already on his foot, he can barely pick the phone up due to his diabetes

This thread isn't over yet. I just had my Saturday Thanksgiving with the TDS Reddit moderators I mentioned earlier. And it was a doosey.
The retired inlaws announced that due to the election, they are embarrassed to be Americans and are moving to Canada before Trump takes office. It was a long scripted sanctimonious speech in which his voice even started to crack while holding back tears.
They have already terminated their existing lease in dowtown ATL, gotten two quotes from moving companies, and are flying to Vancouver on Tuesday to sign a lease on an apartment there. They aren't just talking about it or tweeting about it. They are literally moving to Canada, and will begin the process of citizenship there which their research says takes about 5 years, because Orange Man is bad. The rest of the family, all liberals with TDS, are stunned, disappointed, and a little pissed off for a variety of reasons. I knew they were liberals and didn't like Trump, but I did not realize just how ridiculously infected with TDS they are. Dude is a decorated ranger with several tours in the mideast. I always took him to be the lesser of the liberals in that family unit, but I was wrong.

Stanley A. McChrystal is one of the biggest libs and anti-Trumper I have ever worked with and he commanded the regiment and JSOC. He infected a lot of them.
Last I interacted with him he was using tech developed for JSOC to counter Trump on social media in the run ip to the 2020 election.

He’s old and they think he’s diabetic and he’s actively answering when they call = he’s marked as a potential whale = they call more and more

My only contribution to the thread is that my liberal (female) cousin refused to come to Thanksgiving this year because Trump won, and she's the only liberal in the entire family. She says we are living in the real-life Handmaid's Tale, whatever the hell that means. Our family is pretty tight and always has been, including her, but she has allowed politics to infect her ability to process reality.
I told her brothers to make sure to tell her that I said we didn't want her pig snout eating all of the dinner rolls anyways. She's a lunatic and a fatty.
I'm sending her a Make America Healthy Again hat for Christmas.
