1/1/2025 Health Insurance went up 9.5%. .
Obama
$506.00 per month for me and one child, with a $5,000.00 Ded, so it's pretty much worthless except for a catastrophic event.
I pay 1/3 Co 2/3 so the actual price is $1,518.00 per month large group PPO with BC/BS Texas.

Mine is like $334 a month with a fricking $8500 deductible.
Yay.

Mine went up like a dollar a pay period, I got lucky

High premium, high deductible
At least they're nice enough to let me use my own money to pay for it all

Sad to say this, but that's not bad TBH. I would take that over mine

The entire purpose of Odumbf*ckCare was to take those people who were doing the right thing and paying for their their own insurance for themselves and their families and force them to pay for insurance for a bunch of lazy fricking Odumbf*ck voters. That was it. Socialized medicine in through the back door.. The so-called "architect" of Odumbf*ckCare even admitted it when he didn’t think anyone was taping him.
Remember Nancy Pelosi gleefully remarking about how now if you want to just be a bum/artist and not work you can do that because Odumbf*ckCare will pay for your health insurance.
When I was in my 30s, I had a private Blue Cross plan. It only cost me $50 a month because it was considered to be a “catastrophic plan." As a catastrophic plan, it had the absurd deductible of $5,000. As my agent explained it to me, it was basically just something I could use if I had some sort of major accident or got cancer. In my 30s, that was all I needed.
Under Odumbf*ckCare, that is now a gold plan and better than the average plan.

Is it 60/40, 80/20, or 100/0 coverage? I love when it estimates that I will spend on average 30K per year out of pocket on healthcare between insurance premiums and use of the healthcare system. 30 fricking K! And we are a healthy family at that.

lol! Neither party gives a flying frick about you.
Both sides want you to fight over inconsequential shite like transgender sports while the average American gets skullfricked by Wall Street and lobbyists

Posted on 10/31/24 at 10:55 am to The Torch
My health insurance went up 6%
$150/ month for family.
But have to pay "spousal surcharge " because she's eligible for insurance at her workplace

Mines 7,500 with an 11k OOP maximum. frickin junk.
Posted on 10/31/24 at 10:59 am to The Torch
I am still not sure the difference from deductible vs Max out of pocket
Posted on 10/31/24 at 11:01 am to danilo
Deductible is per person and max OOP is total for the plan.
I.e. if you have a 3k deductible, family of 4, and 10k max oop, and your whole family gets in a horrible car wreck, you'd hit the 10k max oop before you hit the 12k sum total of everyone's deductibles.
Eta: and don't get me started on the maximum annual contribution to the HSA being lower than the maximum oop for the plan. frickin garbage shite. Glad the government in their infinite benevolence tells me how much of my own money I'm allowed to save in a year though!
