The longer they try to backtrack without admitting they fricked up, the worse it will be for them. So far all they have done is try to say it was no big deal, why are you pussies so upset.

This CEO is getting canned within a month, his recent remarks are highly indicative of poor leadership and his actions have done little or nothing to quell this incident.

Sort of, but I don't think they completely accounted for or foresaw the reaction that has ensued here.
I think the problem was, the curtain got pulled back a bit too far when the marketing chick's rationale was exposed.
They are obviously in a bit of panic mode now.
