Had the kid pulled off with the charter guy attempting to step on his boat, would he have faced any charges or been well within his right? Cause I would like to think I would’ve floored it at that moment

Yea I would probably quietly advise any teenagers I may know personally to weigh risk and reward on a call like that. Just make sure if anyone ever sees it, it's because you absolutely needed it.

I believe so, but that would be up to the DA

kid had a 70hp motor, looks like the a-hole had about a 225, depends on how fast bro could get in his bateau and where the closest safe haven for the kid was

He was definitely looking for it. He assessed the situation and got angrier/escalated when he could tell the kid was apologizing to him rather than getting ready to fight imo
Could be PTSD or something. His lawyer, arguing in his defense, mentioned he was 100% disabled from his service. Look how far he's come, operating his own charter boat business.
Edit: /s
Seems you have to declare it around here.

shame that we have to think that way but that's our world, a bigger risk is alcohol, if the kids were drinking and used the hardware(or even adults for that matter,) it kind of complicates things

The desire to arm and protect yourself is a great excuse to not drink. I knocked it off quite a bit when I decided to commit to truly everyday carry.

Kid embarrassed him in front of his peers so he ruins his career with a stupid decision. Cautionary tale.
He fricked up initially with his attitude that Buoys and 'No Wake Zones' didn't mean anything to him by blasting through there.
Imagine instead of all the dumb, stupid, arrogant acts that followed, that he had simply apologized to the 22 year-old young man (why does everyone keep saying he's a kid?) and to his passengers?
A cautionary tale, indeed.
*also, as a Captain is responsible for the safety of his passengers and he left his boat to illegally board another, is abandoning his ship (boat) in the process and leaving his passengers in a running boat a chargeable maritime offense?

It's amazing there are people here defending the charter boat captain.
You know they are just trolling you don’t you?
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Lets dog this guy as much as possible. But lets keep the facts straight
That is not a no wake zone. Boats there are actually fishing in the channel. But, it is respectful not to flood them at night there. Just a courtesy

Kid was talking just as much shite and he pussed out as things escalated. He shouldn’t have been talking so much shite if he was that big of a wimp
Bro, if this is what you took away from that video, you are one dumb SOB, with zero comprehension and deductive abilities. Please don't breed.
ETA: Bro...
