Honestly, it is polite to sit in your car at the ATM, because who wants someone coming up behind you while you are typing in personal information about your account. Not to mention the fact, that it could feel threatening to have someone right behind you when you are walking away with cash. I mean you would think with chalk threatening the bleeding heart liberals, they could grasp that concept.

He was in his car. If it was obvious he was next in line, he would have been..well standing in line. It's not a drive though. You drive up to a walk up ATM, get out of your car and get in a line. Pretty standard procedure.
