Have an upvote, fondly remember Paul Harvey. Great American. I see we have our usual downvoters, commie, shitbags.

Once I got a car and quit riding the motorcycle to work, I never missed his "the rest of the story".
Good memories, thx.

I always made it a point to listen to his commentary on my way to work. If I arrived early, I would sit in the car till his trademark signoff. Good memories indeed.

Mays, you nailed that, both in substance and in style.
Well done, good person. Please, more.

Early in his career, Harvey would say "reel two" but later on, he changed it to page two. Perhaps page two would have connected better. :)

Someone told me that Paul Harvey flew his private plane in his underwear. He'd take off his suit, fly in his underwear, and dress before leaving the plane, so his suit was unwrinkled.

He was great and was one of the best advertisers of all time.

Rates for ads or sponsorships of his shows were the highest in the business.

He made such brands as Bose Wave Radios, Nurtragenia, Roach Pruf, JB Weld and even Buick Roadmasters.

one of my early memories was being at home when my older brother was in school. i had to be 4 or 5. 1957 or 58. mom was ironing and listening to KMLB radio (monroe), where the shows around lunch were "hits for the missus" and "luncheon at the Francis." somewhere around the noon hour, Paul Harvey would do his full news broadcast. i loved paul harvey.

for "luncheon at the francis" a dj with a live mic would walk around the restaurant at the Francis Hotel in downtown Monroe and interview the big fish of that tiny pond.

I worked as a welder's helper one summer. My boss listened to Paul every day while we ate lunch. I was so lazy, I just threw together PB&J sandwiches every day. The only ad I remember was the Kava coffee ad.

"Kava, Kava, Kava!"
