If I'm buying non alcoholic drinks, I'm not getting any ice. It comes out of the machine cold anyway and the ice is just space filler.

I assume you mean in iced tea since there is no reason to have ice in a coke that already comes out cold. Just takes up space and waters down the coke.

I love the ice. Even have an Opal nugget ice maker BUT you have a point. I hate when I take two good sips of a ocean water only to find it's already half way gone.

This frickin' shite!
Besides that, the ice is, in my opinion, good for stuff like iced tea at the right proportion. What it isn't good for is when restaurants use it in mixed drinks. For example, if I'm at a Mexican restaurant, I like my margarita on the rocks. This shite doesn't work.

We have a Scotsman here at work and I routinely bring a large cup home in the evenings for a mixed drink or two. Fill up a small old fashioned glass and fill it up with bourbon. Take a few sips until it’s halfway gone then top it off with a cola or ginger ale.
