Unfortunately, white privilege is a theory that presents a false dichotomy. If you deny the existence of white privilege, you are racist (probably overtly so). If you accept the existence of white privilege, you are admitting that you are subconsciously racist. You can't win. You can't escape it.
It's foolish because of two reasons. First, it makes a complete mockery of true merit, the true value of one's work. Second, and most important, it denies the individual of their choice, their free will. You are BRANDED with this privilege. You can't escape. It affects the way you look at life, and the way you make decisions. It's ludicrous.

This self-loathing crap makes me laugh. He should have asked the cop to write him a ticket, or given his spot in divinity school to a more deserving black woman. Until he does more than whine, he is no different than the people he is railing against; because he is one of them.

Thank you. They assume all blacks blame whites, blah blah blah. Hell I don't even think about race...only time I hear of racial problems is on the news or this message board. See blacks everyday....nobody discusses race.

I think this whole things is really pretty simple. If anyone–black, white, male, female, rich, poor, young, old–believes there's something wrong, that person should look in the mirror and ask, "What can I do to make things better?"

This type thing pisses me off simply because of the double standard placed on race baiting/using the race card.
Sure, I was afforded opportunities many other kids, no matter their race, weren't. The reason? My parents worked their asses off and provided that opportunity for me. They sure as hell didn't sit around and gripe about someone else causing their troubles. Although, I'm sure they had that opportunity.
