Why did the daughters leave? Their mom made them?

A funeral is no place for confrontations. I had to deal with my late fiance's ex wife at his funeral. I am proud to say that we could put aside any issues to be able to lay that man to rest in peace.

I could have been a witch but I loved him enough to extend that love to his kids. I'm not real close with them but I loved their dad so much that I would never go after their mom because it would hurt the kids.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Such a sad way to have happen

Not that. Said hello to the daughters, hello to the ex, and continued on with the rest of those visiting. No need to cause a scene.

Should have spoken to the funeral director beforehand and let him ask her to leave.

Why didn't the daughters stay for their father's funeral?

Probably embarrassed by the whole thing. GF caused quite a scene.

Wrong, Ms psychologist.

Nothing like watching a good cat fight masquerading as a funeral.

I was told by his gf that she sent a message via FB to the ex not to show up for his funeral.

That's the trashiest part of this whole thing.

Who handles this sort of business over facebook?

I have no desire to be visited by a pissed off ghost because I ruined his final earthly party.

Are you people that fricking ADHD that you can’t read for 45 seconds? Jesus.

And I agree about the GF. She caused the issue. She should have shown class and grace and didn’t.

This is so trashy. The #1 rule of being the current wife/girlfriend is to never let the ex wife see she’s getting under your skin. That’s how she wins. The only person who looks bad in this scenario is the girlfriend. Ex-wife walks away looking like a saint.

A funeral is no place to start this sort of thing. While I understand the gf not wanting the ex there, the ex arrived with the daughters whose father loved them. Whether the ex was there out of spite or to support her daughters doesn't really matter. The gf caused a scene where there should have been no scene. She should have taken the high road. It's too bad the daughters didn't stay, but I can understand that issue, as well.

Gf really caused unnecessary trauma drama. And, sending the FB message to the ex probably kicked it all off. Geez...that should have never happened either. She was just asking for trouble there.

She should have known that the only way his daughters would be able to attend the funeral is with their mother there, assuming the daughters are still minors.
She should have just stayed quiet, acknowledge the daughters and ignore the ex. Let her sit in her corner somewhere so the daughters can pay their respect.
