Fox8 headline: 3 injured, 2 dead after a shooting in Central City, police say

Number cruncher Jeff Asher: "There is an astounding level of gun violence in New Orleans right now even for New Orleans. There have been 84 shooting incidents in the last 30 days per my count, by far the most we have on record."

As someone who doesn’t live there and has no reason to ever go to New Orleans it is fascinating to watch. Let’s keep pumping those numbers up.

Why aren’t car crashes tracked as “automobile violence”?

Everything you love about New Orleans is because of guns.

That's the narrative.

Who is pulling the trigger on these guns? Hmmm. Probably MAGA repubs and their dammed registered weapons.

Because intent can be hard to prove with automobiles...

...sometimes.

If you live in a mid-sized city or above simply check your morning headlines.

Due to all this crime, the City Council made some really tough decisions, put their collective foot down and banned the sale of Coke with kid meals in New Orleans (which Dr. Jennifer Avegno touted). New Orleans feels safer already.

I'm a New Orleans apologist and it's really bad right now. I have my head on a swivel in places i've never had my head on a swivel including the 90s. Ive been half joking that we need a Battalion of Marines for about a year and a half. I really don't think that's a joke anymore. We need to be occupied by 1500-2000 National Guardsmen and Military for a minimum of 2 years just to get back to a place where we can attempt to put together a Police Force that might be able to handle some of this again. That's before you even begin to address the circus that this Mayor is.

It’s going to get much much worse. It isn’t even funny anymore because the city is in a state of totally anarchy.

I’m really concerned about Mardi Gras

1 out of 15 African American males in Orleans Parish are victims of homicide by the age of 36. This is a startling statistic.

New Orleans has hit to rock bottom before anything will start to get better. I don’t think they’re even close to hitting rock bottom though. That’s how bad I think things will get.
