I hate how they don't flip his card over on a double down. That is not the common practice in the shite palaces of da south.

In Australian casinos, people standing behind you can reach over your shoulder and put bets on your bet Up to 3-4 people per seat. It’s nuts.

yep table was rigged for the first person that walked up.

Same thing happened to me when I turned 21 and went to laberge in BR. No one was at the blackjack table I walked up to it and 5 straight hands got dealt 3,4,5s while dealer had BJ after BJ and lost each one. Jokes on them, never gambled at a casino again ever since. They lost a customer on day 1 for a measly hundred dollars

LOL. The tables are not rigged. The gambling industry is heavily regulated. And they have the advantage. Why would they risk their gambling license to cheat in a game where they already hold a substantial advantage?

I can't win shite. But my wife wins big at the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma. Like big, big.

I think it's because at the 1832 Steakhouse a few years ago she saved a guy's life doing CPR (she's a RN) and i really think they somehow they allow her to win.

It's the only explanation. She was up over 35k all of 2024 just at that casino.

It used to. But I don't even pay attention to the other players any more.

Their play has no impact on you.

lol, they cheated to get the guy’s 100 bucks!!!!
You know they. Probably had a spy in the parking garage and knew he was coming in to play blackjack at that table.

I know. But you hear this all the time.

And if you go to have fun, playing with people that give you the red arse is no fun.

Didn't and doesn't happen, at least at regular casinos. I can't speak to what happens at some truck stop or Indian reservation casino.

It can be infuriating for sure.

I try to just tune out the other players.

His count

My counting is rusty but The running count didn’t get more than +/- 4 through the entire shoe and mostly bounced right around neutral. You can’t see the amount of cards dealt or remaining in the shoe so I couldn’t do the conversion to a true count.

It has been years since I’ve played a hand of blackjack but I used to lose myself in counting and converting at the table. It’s like you’re playing a different game than everyone else. We’d go to the worst casinos on the MS gulf coast like Bayou Caddy and Copa and play against new dealers who could be taken advantage of. Sometimes games were as cheap as $2 per hand. In Las Vegas, the Imperial Palace used to have good rules for $5 games so we’d play there mostly.

I haven’t gambled in a casino in years and mentally it’s hard to play now that a $5 game is a rarity.

What’s the thought process on this? Do you suspect that there is cheating going on?

I hear people say things like this or not liking a particular dealer, but how does that affect the Oder of the upcoming cards? It doesn’t.

Please, explain this to me. I’d also like to know how what I do on my hand affects others at the table. ME taking a card that YOU don’t think I should have does not decrease the odds of your future cards being better/worse.

It doesn't. People are just emotional.

No question, but it comes back to having fun. If the dealer seems to be having fun and is happy that people are winning, it is more fun than playing with the dealer that seems to be competitive and trying to take everyone’s money,

Game of chance designed to make the house money, should not be surprising.

At Harrah's one time, and the only time I ever played at Harrah's (NOLA), I ended up getting 3 in a row of a same card, let's call it 8 or higher, so I split, and doubled down when appropriate, etc. I want to say I ended up having close to $500 on the table.

The dealer showed a 7. She flipped over another 7. Okay, she's going to bust out. She flipped over another 7. I wanted to flip the table.

I got up and left.

Went there during Mardi Gras one night. Our group of friends gets absolutely destroyed at the blackjack table. I end up hitting blackjack something like a dozen times in the session and I’m still only even money. Every double, every split absolute bloodbath.
