I should mention that the gov job is ~$45k-$50k (substantially less than what I’m making now, but not “un-doable”)

From what little I know of YOU, you will get frustrated with job C. You are intelligent and will feel stifled. Figure a easy way to deal with stress besides smoking and go with B.

But again, I won’t lie... just punching the clock and doing a job, nothing more/less, sounds VERY appealing for some reason

ETA: And it’s not just some minimum wage job... its got realistic and average pay for DoD (no clearance nec.)

A or B. The C job would have you wondering what the hell happened to your life at 60. Understand though, with A or B, if you perpetually make more than what they thought you would, your pay structure will be restructured.

A closer will always be able to find a job though.

Would it ruin the game if I explained that Job C would be a stepping stone in the government sector (which is surprisingly hard to penetrate unless you’re already a govie) to effectively my dream job...

Yea, go with A or B and save your money. $45-50k government jobs will always be there.

The game kind of sucked to begin with.

Now you keep moving the goal posts, you prick.

Take C and Gtfo.

I started my career in Government IT. I left after 2 years and doubled my income. It was low stress but just didn't pay enough.

I'm a sales manager for a national brand that puts pressure on our outside sales force.

I'll say if your "iffy" at all on A or B, go C. You may land that sales job, but if you aren't putting up numbers, you'll be either fired, or micromanaged to the point that you quit.

My ex GF worked in a tech job for Fedgov. She makes about 115K a year. She started with them after she graduated from UC Berkeley and climbed the ranks. Her job was not stressful except on rare occasions. And her retirement pension is great.

So I would give some thought to Job C.

No, I think it reinforces that you really want to go with Job C. If you can't get to your dream job with A or B, then you have your answer.

Do that, baw. In the meantime, while you are waiting on old Jerry to retire so you can get your dream job, get side work so you can supplement your retirement.

Do your own retirement plan, go with the Govt. pension plan, and make sure you are also qualified for Social Security.

ob C is a “tech-industry” job for the government. Much lower salary. No “commission” for any “sales”. But, VERY predictable, VERY low stress, just punch the clock

At the end of the day, what I’m asking... Is it worth me sacrificing (most likely over) $100,000 in annual income for something that I can just punch the clock in and out, with virtually no stress?

Passion is what you would like to do. Talent is what you are good at.

My advice.

Follow your passion. And only you can decide what that is. You can then develop your talent.

Finally, the money will follow after the experience.

Job A is with a reputable, nationally recognized company with a decent salary... High stress outside sales job.
Job A and Job B are outside sales (read: high stress), [/quote]

Can you summarize if there are any high stress issues related to Job A and/or B. THX.
