United already left. It’s a shame. Ellick has a nice little airport.

Intel just picked Ohio and is bringing 20k jobs with it. So did Google, Facebook, Amazon ALL in the last 3 years. Ohio is booming right now!! Republican led at all levels. Ohio has it's shite together under Republican control and its showing economically speaking. Plus, we are killing it socially too...Constitutional carry + Arming school teachers. You name it.

What about it? Toledo is a smaller city. This isnt some indictment on the state of Ohio like you think it is. You said "OHIO" so i responded to that nonsense.

I think BTR, LFT and Shreveport all have at least one mainline Delta flight to ATL per day

And no service to any other hub. They love to funnel everyone through ATL.

Despite that, I am switching from American to Delta this year. American’s network is so royally fricked. I’d so much rather deal with Atlanta and have options for flight times instead of dealing with the weird scheduling at American.

You can definitely get an AA flight from AEX and SHV. About an hour to DFW and check-in/baggage claim is a gazillion times easier than at a larger airport.

I think both also have United, but I hate flying with them, so it doesn't matter.

I didn't say that... I'm just joking with you about Toledo.

Ohio is like the Florida of the North... the bad and the good.

Just speaking generally about the concept. No idea about these cities.

Ithaca will still have service from Delta and United.

Islip is served by Southwest.

Toledo has the hardest hit here, their only other carrier serving them is Allegiant. But Detroit is only 45 minutes away.

I don't keep up with it as much now but AA(AE,) was flying to CLT and ORD out of SHV for a while, probably still doing SHV-CLT

Nah, too many soldiers fly in and out of AEX.

I don't think the ORD flight exists anymore. I'd bet that the DFW link is the busiest route out of SHV.

hard to say, Delta to ATL has to have a pretty good load factor, UAL to IAH used to be pretty busy but it seems to have dropped off a bit over the last couple of years

Sounds like there just isn’t the necessary traffic in the rust belt

Toledo is also close enough to Detroit where airlines should have done this awhile ago.

I like to fly out of Montgomery. Super easy with no real lines and parking is a breeze.

I have a trip to Vegas is August. Delta wants $1650 to fly out of Montgomery-Atlanta-Vegas. 3 hour layover.

If I drive to Atlanta, and fly direct, non-stop, it's $850 and my drive is about 2.5 hours.

Think I'll just drive.

I need 3 tickets. Difference in price to me to fly out of Montgomery is over $2400. This is how you kill a regional airport.
