What is the appropriate response to seeing your democratic victories ignored and undermined, for decades?

you got any proof for these unsubstantiated accusations? and I dunno... maybe take a page out of Democrats playbook, unfortunately... did they form an insurrection and loot government buildings when Gore lost, despite having won the popular vote? what about in 2016, when the exact same thing happened?

What is the appropriate response to being told "elections have consequences," but then seeing Trump denied the biggest thing he campaigned on despite Republicans controlling the House and Senate?
so naturally it's the other sides fault for him not doing what he said he'd do, despite having both sides of Congress... c'mon man... now you are just sounding silly

our system 100% has failed and does not warrant our veneration anymore.

I'd agree it's FAILING, but it's not totally failed... but we, meaning BOTH sides, need to learn how effectively work together, or it clearly will collapse...

Oh so something should be done only if it's our Congress members put in danger.

I mean frick everyone else right?

They actually did lay siege to a federal courthouse for months, while attempting to burn it to the ground.

Occupy Wall Street impacted our financial markets and had a rape tent on site for women that were assaulted and were encouraged to be silent. Crickets.

The double standard is what's frustrating. I know there are fringe elements on both sides.

Didnt Liz Warren encourage people to take over the Capital during the Kavanaugh hearings?

Wait. What? I agree with almost every you've stated in this thread but I have never heard a thing about a 'rape tent.'

What the hell is that about?

This is my entire argument. The blatant hypocrisy and double standards from our politicians and media.

A lot of women in the Occupy Wall Street movement reported being sexually assaulted and supposedly they had onsite counseling for it. I wasn't there, so obviously I'm just repeating what I heard, but it wasn't from Alex Jones but from what I consider to be fairly reputable media sources.

You can not fix the system by not condemning the banning of viewpoints from discussion.

when/if the government bans the viewpoint, violating the 1st Amendment, then I will condemn it... until then, if it's a private company banning a user for whatever the private company thinks it needs to be banned for, that's a totally separate issue...

you are a physician, right? I may be mixing you up with someone, I can't remember, but think of it this way... you have a private practice... you think a private insurance company, who pays below market reimbursement for EVERY patient, and doesn't reimburse in a timely manner, etc, should be forced upon you? or should you have the right to refuse to take that insurer's patients and the option to participate in that insurer's plans?

That isn’t akin to the current situation because it isn’t about access, it is about viewpoint.

it's really about both, and I've already said I don't agree with the Parler banning, despite having no problem Amazon's right as a private company to do what they want to do with respect to their business...

quote:

There are others, but they are small and their reputations are unknown.

but still allowed to exist, correct? if so, what's the problem?

quote:

Now, the major journals collude to prevent the expansion of the others AND prevent the spread of medical knowledge they disagree with.

can you PROVE the collusion between FB, Google, Amazon, etc? or are you doing what everyone else is, and assuming that it exists, b/c well, you just KNOW it because it FEELS like it?

quote:

That is an apt analogy.

no, it's not... you have a lot of presupposition and don't account for government oversight, at all... b/c If there is, then there are acceptable standards for those journals, therefore, can't be just "opinion" based information disguised as facts, since those "facts" wouldn't be able to be replicated via peer review/subsequent testing methodologies... you KNOW this, yet didn't include it in your analogy... wonder why?

quote:

And I assume you would have no issue with that, correct?

again, does the large journals shut down those little journals or does the government?

It doesn't bother me that Twitter disabled Trump's account. That's their private company, they ban people all of the time. It happens.

What does bother me is Google/Apple/Amazon basically colluding to shut Parler down. I do hope Parler can fight back someway.
