Anyone use this? Seems like a pretty slick offering, just trying to find products I buy each month so I can maximize the 15% discount.

Ideas?

I have not been able to come up with anything that I use consistently enough to justify it.

I like it very much for my all the time items, toilet paper, paper towels, clorox wipes, etc etc. And if you don't need it that month you can just skip it to the next month.

You have to monitor the prices, because the item price still fluctuates like normal on Amazon.

I subscribed for some cat litter, because that just seemed easy. One week is was 7 dollars. The next it was 15.

I use it for baby stuff. Might be weird if you do't have a kid.

Toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, deodorant, nonperishable foods, anything else you buy at Sam's/Costco and Walmart to a lesser extent. You can get everything they sell at warehouse clubs for less, delivered to your door, and drop all your other memberships.

You don't have to buy stuff every month, you can set shipments as far out as twice a year. I recommend you add around 10+ things to your subscriptions to get the maximum discount and you can always skip a delivery.

Edit: Baby stuff too.

Also, you can drop and re-add subscriptions each cycle to add manufacturer coupons. This is a big deal with diapers, baby wipes, formula.

Is there another discount at 10? Thought it was at 5?

I've had mixed results. I first signed up to get the Science Diet cat food variety that my Pets Mart is always out of. That was great, to have a bag show up automatically. So then I added stuff that was a pain to go to Walmart/Target for, like the huge box of Splenda, body wash, deodorant and toothpaste my family uses. I was getting the 15% discount and it was great. Then Amazon would tell me certain items were out of stock or were discontinued from the plan. Eventually, I was down to just getting the cat food and the deodorant

At that time it was a real pain to add/edit your Subscribe and Save plan, so I just bailed. I started back on it last month when I noticed they had revamped the plan and made it more user-friendly and added more things. I'll see how it does.

If you don't run through TP like Auburn, the you have no women living in the house.

No, it's just easier to get 5 in any delivery if I have a consistent list in front of me. I don't need shampoo, razors and garbage bags every month, but we'll need 5 things from a list of 10~15 staples every six weeks.

Six weeks is the most efficient cycle for us rather than 1 month (2 adults, 2 children).

Just about the only we don't buy on Amazon is perishable food.

You can subscribe to stuff you don't need consistently for a 5% immediate discount, or put it on the six month subscription & add it to your next delivery for a 15% discount then cancel the subscription after it arrives.

We tried it, the savings are there but we had issues with the way the items were shipped. The boxes are flimsy and often without any packing material. Many of the items were damaged. Amazon made it right, but this kept up for 3 or more months and we finally just gave up and ended our subscription.

My favorite was granola bars. My kids go through them like crazy. The wife ordered them and we'd have a few boxes delivered each month. They took the paperboard boxes and taped them together using packing tape and affixed a shipping label to them. You could imagine the shape they were in when they arrived. We told Amazon, they packed the replacements in an envelope. Lol..

We've had the Chase Visa for a year, we call it the Christmas fund with the (now) 5% rebate, and I just got the Amazon store card with the 5% rebate. You can get a $70 credit for applying for the store card, plus it has an automatic interest free financing option on big $ purchases.

I tried, but this is the problem. There is no consistency to what they charge you and you know they have all the algorithims to make it come out to either your advantage or theirs. It is much cheaper for me to just keep track of it myself and order when the price is at the right spot, if it is too high, I can easily get it locally.
