They should raise it to $300 or more.
People are addicted.
They'll pay near anything.

I just ordered some stuff this am. Was asked if I wanted it delivered today between 10-3 or 2-6. Had options to deliver to my doorstep or one of the numerous Amazon lockers around me

Like I said…never had issues. In the years I’ve had prime I’ve maybe had 3 packages not show up in 2 days….they showed up in 3 days instead.

Again…these are prime items I’m ordering. Some people may not pay attention to that and order regular items that don’t qualify for prime shipping.

They know they'll get away with it.

16% hike. Unless an offsetting number of people eject, they come out way ahead.

Yay. Pay more money for Amazon drivers to deliver my shite to the wrong house even though my address numbers are clearly visible.

No need to get Prime. I just order everything via the standard free shipping option. It might take a few days more, but for $139 a year, that can pay for a trip to the grocery store or a few fill-ups at the pump. Besides, the Prime Video interface is terrible. There are several streaming services that work much better. I have a Roku stick that tells me whenever a movie I want to watch is available for free across the whole universe of non-subscription streaming apps. As for music, I downloaded my entire collection to Google Music, now YT music, which is free for the basic service. I own my music and do not stream it from a service, so that probably puts me in the minority when it comes to how I manage/listen to my music, but again, $139 a year over time can pay for a lot of albums.

What you do have to pay for is high speed internet and TV. I pay $173 a month for Cox, with fast internet as well as the sports and entertainment packages, and, yes, you do have to call them and negotiate every couple of years. But Amazon is now almost as much as I pay for Cox.

I cancelled back in December or November. I had it for years just for the 2 day shipping. I don't stream anything. I haven't gotten anything in 2 days in a long while. So what's the point? I usually buy more than $25 worth and get the free shipping which arrives at the time Prime has been. When i cancelled they sent me an email showing how much i had "saved" with Prime shipping. It was the same as the subscription. Oops, that wasn't a good email to win me back.

That's not even close to true.

I have the ultimate TV plan (HBO Max, Showtime, and everthing else you can think of) as well as 1200 Mbps internet and pay $180/month after taxes with a one year contract and no price escalation.

Good for you.... but that's not the deal I have in Georgia.

$139 a year is less than $173 a month. You suck at math.

In terms of shipping and shopping benefits, I'm starting to think Walmart+ is better than Amazon Prime. Walmart+ has to-my-door delivery on items that are stocked locally, and their shipping has been more reliable than Amazon this past year. Amazon wins on video, easily. Walmart has discounted gas. Walmart+ is way, way cheaper, though.

I might be cancelling Prime finally after this latest hike. Already have Hulu+ with live TV, Disney+, ESPN+, and Netflix for all the video needs. Prime video doesn't have enough exclusives that I care about to justify continuing to eat the price hikes.
