as long as you pay off your cards, the rewards are free money...but you do you I guess

Why forego the extra protection and rewards from a credit card?

There's no benefit to using the debit card unless you have zero self-control and ability to budget and pay a credit card off every month.

I have a charge for $16.04 from Amazon and I never ordered anything. I’ve been wondering what it is

You are a moron for having your DEBIT card tied to anything automatic or any online purchasing whatsoever.

Dude is going to be real mad when the bank puts a hold on all of his money in his checking account.

This...

There's very little protection on a debit card. Especially once the charge goes through, you're almost fricked. Now you're waiting on a new debit card and your amazon prime is expired..

You have a massive cyber fraud exposure that could wipe out you bank account. Use a CC for everything and pay it off monthly. If your CC gets hacked your bank account is not hacked with it.

the membership includes all prime streaming services as well and the free shipping.

So its not exactly a waste of 139.

Two things:

1. credit cards have financial and security benefits that debit cards do not have

2. if you are disciplined enough to pay off credit cards every month it will have a positive impact on your credit score especially if the only credit you are using is for a mortgage. The improved credit score from using credit cards will positively impact your creditworthiness and interest rates in the event you have to borrow money or decide you would prefer to borrow money for something like a new car, a second home, or take advantage of a zero percent interest option for a purchase.

Some people need to follow the Dave Ramsey approach to money but those with a modicum of discipline are leaving a lot of money on the table by doing so.

Prime is mostly a ripoff. All orders above about $25 come with free shipping anyway. May not come in 2 days but usually a few.

Learned this the hard way. Had some fraudulent charges go through that I didn’t catch. The time limit was passed on the debit card so I had to eat them. If they were credit card transactions the period you have to report the fraud and get reimbursed is way longer.

As others have said, the rewards are literally free money.

It’s certainly not the deal it once was.

Amazon is finding out how expensive being in the shipping business is.

There are 3-4 body shops around BR that repair prime vans that look like they were driven around Mogadishu.
