I guess what happened was that women tried to accentuate the differences between men and women, and hair is one. It’s natural for women to have armpit hair and a slight mustache, but men have more. So women started plucking and shaving. As that became common, men’s tastes shifted also.
The movement we are seeing today is one that is trying to stop women from being objectified so much. i feel sympathy for that movement, at the same time i feel revulsion at its manifestations, such as mustache girl.
This is actually all true.
Our ancestors were higher in testosterone and had deeper, more angular features. For them, anything with tits would have seemed feminine.
But now that men are more feminine (by contrast), women need to shave their legs and armpits to keep a similar distance apart on the masculine/ feminine spectrum.

Throughout history, more men have shaved their face than women.
I shaved mine this morning and a billion women didn’t.

My aunt had to shave her face. If not she had a beard. Evey time she hugged me it was like my little soft cheeks being rubbed with sand paper from her stubble.

They all do
Had an Italian friend later in life that I helped as she was fighting cancer. During that time she did not get the lip waxed and had a pretty heavy mustache. I think it happens in Mediterranean women as have seen it in Greek women too.
