The harmony remote is actually a great item, especially for people with multiple devices and/or hiding/relocating those devices.

It works great. Setup can take a while, and you may need a few adjustments occasionally (I had to when Samsung reconfigured its Smart TV menu, because the old programmed keystroke/configuration was causing it to automatically start the last app I used) but it really makes life a lot easier.

I have a harmony remote. I didn't buy it and I likely wouldn't have bought it myself but I love it.

I have one and it works great. Perfect for those who want to control all of their devices with one remote. Also a plus when you want all of your equipment hidden.

I was mostly referring to the touchscreen. It looks like a pretty small area. Does it work well?

they work for awhile (atleast cheaper models) and then drive you bat shite crazy

I got it because my bose remote broke (the cheap 3.1 bose) ended up with a bose universal and thing works great

It works well. It's not like a huge number of tasks like a smartphone or anything. My homescreen (when in cable mode) is like 12 icons of the channels I watch most, and it's just a one touch thing.

The main screen on the remote is your 4-5 different setups listed. Cable, Blu-Ray, Smart TV, FM, etc. Pushing that just activates all the settings needed for that to start.

Once you've made that selection, you're mostly just using the rocker button to move around through menus on the actual TV.

If anything ever doesn't fire up properly (like if you turn the remote away too quickly, or something is blocked, there's a "Help" button that checks what part of it isn't on and fixes it.

For the people with $5,000+ audio/video systems, this is a drop in the bucket and money well spent.

For the guy with a $400 50-inch Hisenth (sp?) TV and a Cox cable box, this is unnecessary.

One remote to control the TV, AppleTV, sound system, integrated with Alexa, lighting, plus other devices, plus an app is a really convenient device to have.

It's the model right before that one. I think it's regularly priced at $250. Been a while since I bought it, but it's a great remote.
