Only way it's acceptable imo. And the person proposing (and the woman being proposed to) should be close to the bride/groom. Just would be odd as hell if you second cousin removed by marriage wants to use your wedding to propose their gf that you've never even met before.
I mean...as long as the guy isn't interrupting reception activities to propose and makes it a private moment that happens to happen at the reception I think it's not that big a deal.

I would never do it, as I would hate to take away from someone elses big day. But I am indifferent if someone chose to propose at my wedding(whenever that time is

Everybody is different but all my previous girlfriends and likely future fiancé are not the type of females that would be cool with being proposed to at another persons wedding

Personally, I'd never do it, regardless if it was a destination wedding or not. I'd never want to steal my friends limelight, because it would be about him and not about me. Sometimes you have to take a back seat and simply enjoy the ride if it's a destination wedding.

It's trashy. They might say, "I got approval from the bride and groom", that's bullshite. The truth is a lot of brides would feel too awkward to say no. You shouldn't put the bride and groom in that situation. Let them have their 4 hours.

I couldn't even begin to imagine what my wife's reaction would have been if some idiot even thought about asking permission to purpose at our wedding.
