Am I the only one struggling to sympathize with celebs and multi-millionaires…

…losing their homes to fires?

I feel evil, but I can’t seem to get too upset about it.

Maybe it’s jealously because I don’t get to live in Malibu, maybe it’s because is CA liberals, maybe it’s because I despise the LA “look at me” culture…I don’t know.

Maybe it’s because I doubt any of these folks blinked an eye when Harvey flooded Houston or Katrina devastated NOLA or Laura mowed over Lake Charles and SW LA.

I am feeling guilty because I should be sympathetic, but I can’t seem to muster any sympathy.

Is that just me?

If you can’t feel bad for anyone losing their home you may be a bit evil.

I feel empathy for the poor people that don’t have millions to rebuild or were renting.

And the kids who can’t vote and didn’t vote for any of this but now their lives are turned completely upside down.

Interesting how the Maui fires didn’t get near as much as attention.

Hollywood is having a panic attack because this has also destroyed a large amount of production infrastructure and even popular shooting locations like the Palisades Charter High School.

I feel bad for the regular folks losing all their possessions. They’ll have a tough time rebuilding.

I really couldn’t care less about rich celebrities or multimillionaires losing theirs.

I mean, I can feel bad at a human level (I’m sure Paris Hilton is sad), and I don’t think they “deserve it”, but I’m struggling to not feel like it’s justice that some of these folks have been dished out a bit of struggle in their life. I feel like a POS, but I’m being honest.

Hollywood has finally woken up and realized that they need to support the best person for the job and not if their name has a D beside it

Dear God, get off the internet man. It's broken your brain. Go volunteer or something.

I feel for all who have lost and will lose their homes in this fire. I also recognize that they continuously voted for people who hired based on fulfilling arbitrary social checkboxes over work quality and voted for policies which have exacerbated the fires as well as voted for the people who created and pushed those policies. And then they egotistically looked down on others for not following their path.

Both mindsets can exist at the same time.

How many “regular folks” live in the Pacific Palisades or Malibu? This is some of the most expensive real estate on the planet.

There have been a huge number of shitheads in comments sections, so no you're not alone.

Losing your house and all your stuff sucks no matter what your net worth is.

Anyone losing their home deserves some sense of sympathy. Money cant replace everything.

I really hate this new populism.

James Woods cried on TV about losing his CA home. He loves Trump and has a long record of conservative views.

Can you feel sympathy for him?

Youre lumping all these people into one group. Thats not how it works.

There are things that cannot be replaced regardless of how "rich" they are.

No doubt. I’m sure it sucks arse for them. I’m just struggling to muster any fricks to give. I think the majority of these people believe they are superior to the majority of us. Maybe that’s it…

A guy I work with has a son living in LA. He’s by no means considered rich. He had to evacuate from his apartment because the fire is getting close.

Those are the folks I feel bad for.

You don't know any of these people (just guessing, maybe wrong). That's an extremely shitty way to live your life
