He’s a felon.
He’s so coked up, drunk, etc. he wouldn’t have much control of himself.
State of mind
On a substance that makes someone more aggressive.
Just a few things to consider.

A lot of y'all are exposing your cultural biases here. In some cultures it is customary to fail drug tests. Stop being bigoted

Think more along the lines of Purple Cotton Pickles

every criminal you see in the paper also has marijuana and drug paraphernalia on them which proves that weed makes you into a criminal

Was he on probation? If so, what were the conditions?

What if not? Right now we don’t know the findings. Again if weed and on propation does that violate it?

It would be weird if he had been sober.
Now, that would be an interesting investigation.

Does it really matter at this point?probably looks better for him if he was intoxicated.

Im sure he was violating probation or parole or whatever but him having drugs in his system should have no bearing on whether or not the killing was justified

Did the drugs help him comply? Did they help him make the right decisions that day?

He was tasered first right? If someone is too drunk or fricked up, can they not be affected by a taser? If so, he would probably still be alive if he wasn't fricked up, however; since he continued to resist arrest. When the police finally got him down, he tried to reach for his gun and because of that, the police had no choice but to shoot him.
What I am saying is.. That if he was fricked up that might have contributed to him not being affected by the taser, but either way, he tried reaching for his gun which resulted in the police not having any other choice but to shoot him so the toxicology report will not change anything.

Well why did they do one? Someone involved felt it pertinent.
Why did they seal it?

correct me if im wrong, but i imagine its because he died
if he didnt die, would they have done it?

Probably not. Everything is scrutinized during a death investigation. If the cops submitted to drug test and they were impaired would it be pertinent?
Still doesn’t answer why it’s sealed. How often are toxicology reports done on deceased criminals and the results withheld?

It would be weird if he had been sober.
I’d take odds that the year of the date of the last time he was “sober” began 199*.

The cops, being public servants should have the mayor and governor in their corner, not resting until their names are thoroughly exhonerated from beyond a shadow of a doubt.
I completely agree with you, BUT the mayor will never be in their corner, especially with an issue like this. She’d lose her entire voting base. Even if she agrees that Alton was a piece of shite and the cops acted appropriately, she will not admit it. It would be political suicide for her. She’s going to play this up as much possible, even though it’s a detriment to the city she represents.

I agree 100%. The governor won’t stand up for them either for the same reason. And I understand that they aren’t state employees, but the are civil servants and sons of Louisiana so he does have a voice in the matter.
I just think it’s a travesty that the feds absolved them, but leave this hanging unresolved. If they are investigated and the findings aren’t made public then why conduct the test?
And why not support them when they are absolved? If you can’t support them, then justify why you can’t. You shouldn’t leave one stone unturned (any evidence sealed) if the public or you the mayor/governor have doubts.

the feds investigation was a civil rights issue iirc
the local investigation is on a different matter
