How do I replace one of these?
Loupe is being replaced by Rowdy Gaudet who is a Republican but served on Broome's staff.
I'm not sure about the others, but several council members were up for election this week. I know Racca is in a run off and Amorosa won reelection.

Chandler is obvious why. He’s also a douche so

Tara Wicker already said she is bringing this up for a vote AGAIN when the new council gets seated.
She won't be a member of the next council

Banks won her re-election
Lamont is in a run off
Collins-Lewis is term limited and out
Green is in a run off
Loupe is term limited and out
Wicker did not run so she is out

Chandler Loup quit doing his job years ago. He’s just marking time.

We still acting like he was only selling CDs?
Did anyone bother opening those CD cases and seeing what was actually inside?
Also interesting that the article states the officer yelled gun but fails to add that he actually had a gun in his pocket he was reaching for.

Brandon DeCuir, an attorney for Sterling's children, said the case will proceed to trial unless a reasonable offer is made.
I can't imagine them having the trial in this area.

Why is this family even able to get ANY money????? The dude was a career criminal with a record as long as my arm.... he basically did nothing for his family while alive... he was just a middle man dealing drugs that night... but I truly believe that HE KNEW that if he got arrested again it would be his third strike and that’s why he resisted..... he just decided to have death by cop instead of knowing he was going to prison for life.. AGAIN, why is his family even being considered to get anything???????

A new C-P Council will be sworn in in January. Thankfully Loupe won’t be on it.

Let’s have a trial. Let’s have transparency. Let’s get it all out there.

Why would Chandler Loup (and even Tara Wicker) vote to reward this criminal's family? They deserve absolutely nothing from the citizens of Baton Rouge.
If they know they will not have the votes to pass, it might be in their best interest to at least say "I voted yes".

If the council pays this family 5 mil....it will open the flood gates and any family that is affected by city officials will want CASH!!!!
Do not set an example.

I also agree.
He was also a convicted felon with a weapon at the time the incident happened.
If I am correct he was breaking the law which he was endangering lives at the time of the incident.
I don’t see how he would get much as he was responsible for the officers being there.
The whole reason he died was actions started by him.
- pointed weapon at a person
- person called police
- he was a convicted felon with a weapon
- refused to give up the weapon
- refused to be taken in custody as he fought the officers
Then if you avg out his income taxes over x amount of years to provide for his family, how much did he make?
Even if they bring stuff out in the BRPD the money they were asking was way out of line.
