I've used Saphir for a while now. A few years back, I forgot my shoe bags and trees and used a t-shirt to stuff and cover my shoes in my luggage. Wasn't paying attention and dumped the contents of my weekend bag in the washer. That'll do a number on shoes. Up to that point, I just used AE's cream polish. Did some research to restore the shoes and came across Saphir. Amazing how it brought that shoe back. Those shoes are now my test shoes. Still wear them. They used to be walnut, but I've played with dyes to see if I could patina them myself. At first, not so good. But I've got them looking great now. Just had to go medium/dark brown to cover up initial mishaps.

Now my process is a brushing, quick saddle soap wash with brush, wipe down, renovatuer, cream polish, then pate de luxe (all medaille d'or).

Use renomat before the saddle soap every 6 months or so to pull off layers of polish. May use mirror gloss to put a mirror shine on the toe. I have no need for a mirror shine....I just enjoy doing it .
