I saw this on Gary Chambers’ Twitter. Apparently it was an all-you-can eat service but the owner (allegedly) refused to keep bringing them crabs when they refused to stop sharing with family members.
Maybe we should see the whole video. But it’s either all you can eat, or it’s not…
You are dumb.

I mean, I ask for water with lemon too. But that's because they offer it and I like lemon water.

Big party. One person orders AYCE and proceeds to share with the rest of the table that did not order the AYCE.

It's in their DNA. Give it 5 minutes.

We have a KPot place near us that opened up about 3 months ago. The servers as well as the menu makes it very clear that if you order a bunch of shite you're not going to cook and eat (it's a korean grill or hotpot at the table) you will be charged by the pound for the food you wasted.
One of the first times we were there, a family of 6 next to us ordered a bunch of shite but didn't eat it all. They were fricking livid when they got their check and they were upcharged about $50 for what they didn't eat. Owner took their picture and told them to get the frick out and never come back.
It was glorious.
I'll readily admit that I can be too much of a people pleaser at restaurants sometimes. If I ordered something and they bring me the wrong thing but I happen to like the wrong item, I'll usually just eat the wrong item instead of waiting for the fixed order. With that being said...........
I cannot fathom the pure lack of shame and self awareness to pull the stunts these people do. The utter lack of human dignity to make a complete fool of yourself is a mind bending level of ignorance.

Good to confirm you're just a troll instead of an actual true believer.

There's a big UFC fight coming up and let's say you decide to host a watch party/BBQ. You invite your buddies and everyone agrees to pitch in for the fight price and the meat. One of your buddies pays his portion for the fights and the meat but shows up on fight night and brings 8 of his friends, none of whom paid for anything, and they try to watch for free and eat up all the BBQ. You cool with that?
I mean after all, you agreed to his price so he should also be able to invite as many others on his "tab" as he likes, right? GTHOH

Or course. But when customers are asking for 1/2 a lemon or more they should be charged. Everyone knows what they are doing. A wedge is the usual.

For about 20 years now, a certain sector of the population has been massively catered to. Just over the last 4-6 years it’s gotten so bad that one side expects absolutely everything handed to them while another side is fed up with it and is finally standing up to the shite.

Sweet, baby Jesus; you can lead someone to knowledge, but you can't make them think.
As others have said, not how it works. They price it based on per person. By your argument, one could pay the price once and share with 20 people.
Controlling waste and sharing is required to make sure they still make money which they have every right to do. The AYCE sushi deals will let you order as much as you want as long as you eat all of it. If more than half your last roll is left, they charge you for that roll. I've seen other buffets do something similar; if you go load up your last plate and hardly touch it, they'll tack on a waste fee. There's a garbage mentality among some that more is better and it doesn't matter if it's wasted on AYCE. The lack of consideration by some is mind boggling.

MY BAD EVERYONE MY INFO WAS WRONG … I WAS UNFER THE IMPRESSION THAT EVERY ONE AT THE TABLE PAID FOR ALL-YOI-CAN-EAT.,

most AYCE places i've seen in the last 10-15 years have it figured out; they load you up with french fries or other cheap 'filler' along with your first order then when you ask for more food they drag their feet and finally bring you, say, a single catfish which you instantly eat and then the cycle repeats.
i used to order the extra catfish immediately when they brought out the first plate so by the time i was done, the new fish had arrived.
you get filled up by sitting there waiting because your food settles.
eta and that's fine; as long as the rules are posted ahead of time so you know whats going to happen.
They do, but, back in my college days, i would still play ball and tell them to bring me a little of everything. They tended to be more accomodating when it was clear I wasnt' trying to down just the protein. It was still 4-5 trips for them.

Corporate restaurants will bow bc they are afraid to be reported to HQ and bad customers know how to play the game. My daughter was a server in college and the stories she’d tell. Manager always caved. Local? They’ll say “get bent.”
