I'm going to have that 'going into a final for a class I never attended' dream tonight after reading this thread.

When you're taking a test, especially a meaty one with complex questions, time isn't on your side. You need rest so your brain can focus and not go all loopy when you hit a deep question or problem

Be damn sure you have the alarm set. Quadruple check it and then set the phone where you have to get up to turn it off. When I get that little sleep I will zombie mode and turn the alarm off and not get up or be so passed out I don't hear the muffled alarm because I am sleeping on the phone.

Sleep. I pulled one all-nighter in college and will never again make that mistake.

Faced this exact scenario last night.
opted for sleep. Went to sleep after 4 and got up at 8. It wasn't much sleep but I know I functioned a hell of a lot better having got it.

Used to pull all nighters like it was nothing. When I would wake up from 3 hrs of sleep I would only think about getting back in bed. From my experience just stay up, but take plenty of breaks to rest your mind from studying. In my case it was cigs or watch a 30 min tv show now and then..best of luck

Sleep is definitely better. Even 1 hr is better than none IMO.

I would go to sleep now and wake up at 4-5 to review before the test

I'm not looking forward to this in about a month and a half.

All nighters normally backfire.

I've never made less than a B pulling an all nighter. Surprised to see the answers in here.

Some sleep is always better than no sleep

It honestly just depends.
If I've studied enough, I always go for the 3 hours.
If I've put shite off too long and still need all the time I can to review, I stay up.

Eh I don't take stims anymore.
Anyway made the executive decision to sleep.
One more hour and I'm done

if im going to be up late and the exam is early, i cant sleep. I dont trust my self waking up with minimal sleep. I sleep through everything. The other day i wanted to take a 1 hour nap so i set my alarm. when i finally woke up and heard it, my alarm had been going of for 157 minutes.

For big exams I just try to go to bed super early and wake up and study early in the morning before taking the test.
If the exam is at 8, I would go to bed around 9-10 and wake up at around 3:30-4:00.

3 hours of sleep was a godsend some nights. I always seemed to perform better scholastically with a bit of sleep as compared to no sleep.
