All nighters vs. 3 hours sleep

Which is better? I haven't been in this situation in like 3 years.
It's not a lack of studying it's just the 4/5th midterm we've had this week and I couldn't start focusing on it until yesterday. Been studying on and off(mostly on) for 12 hours today. Not too tired yet but if I drink coffee this late I won't sleep.
So should I just suck it up and go all night or just push through for like 4 more hours and then get 3 hours of sleep?

3 hours is my cut off. If I can get 3 hours, I'll do it. Any less and it's not worth it.
It's not a matter of how much material I can learn, it is a function of how tired I'll be the next morning during the exam. Any less than 3 hours and I'll be more tired/less focused than I wouldve been had I not gone to sleep.
If you do pull an all-nighter, drink coffee now, and then hit a 5 hour energy at least an hour before the exam, preferably 1.5-2 hrs before the exam.

When I am cramming I'll usually study til 10 or 12 then sleep til 4 or 5 then study til the test.
I need my sleep fo sho.
After being super tired I pretty much just stop learning shite while I'm studying so I have to go to bed for a little bit.
In a few months I'll be in your shoes in Dental School and maybe things will change lol

Drive to campus and sleep in your car until the exam.
Wake up, splash ice water on your face, roll with it.

The two all nighters I pulled in college (freshman year) were my only two C's. Always get some sleep.

Sleep. All nighters don't work.

Yeah 3 seems to be the good cutoff. I know it's like 2 REM cycles if you time it right.
I mean the exam is at 8 so I could probably push through but in the past I generally just completely lose focus at like 4-5am and then am too wired from caffeine to fall asleep.
I guess I'll stay up until 3:30-4 and then see how it goes.

Personally, I would need to get at least a little sleep. At some point I would be too tired for studying to be effective, and I wouldn't be alert enough to perform well in the actual taking of the test.

Don't go all night. Sleep a few hours and then get up early as possible and study up until test.

you will get plenty of sleep when you are dead

I never crammed for an exam in college. If I didn't know the material at midnight the night prior to the exam, the next seven hours weren't going to make it soak into my brain.
3 hours of sleep is much better than staying up all night without the aide of some good trucker's love it.

All nighters normally backfire.
