Just Saints fans concerned it makes NOLA look even less like a NFL city.
The local TV market includes 2-3 metro areas. It clearly can support one, but there will be more lucrative options. Unless the NFL expands, it's probably a matter of time before the Saints move to a larger, faster growing city.

So I think Hammond has it's own metro area now? Or is it Hammond AND Covington/Mandeville?
It's frustrating to think that the Baton Rouge metro has doubled in size over 40 years....but barely anything has been invested into its major highways in that time.

Baton Rouge, Hammond, NOLA, and the Northshore should be one single MSA of 2.5 million.

might as well lump in Biloxi and Gulfport too since they're about same distance from NOLA as Baton Rouge is. That gets you up closer to 3 mil.

Bro you are crazy. I live here too. Ask ANYONE and they will tell you it’s a suburb of Nola

They are slowly coming to the realization that New Orleans is more like Charleston than a bustling city on an upward trajectory.

Oh I see. You’re convincing yourself that moving from river ridge to the Northshore is a step up in life and trying to distance yourself from NOLA.

Mandeville is not a suburb of Nola. Sorry. It isn’t. You can get as angry as you want but it 100% factually is not a suburb

Geauxldilocks has had a 5 year schtick of posting about the saints leaving.
This thread will be funny when St. Tammany is back in the New Orleans MSA.

Not really sure how to go about breaking this news to you: but there is an entire state of Tennessee outside of Memphis, most of which gets cold as all get out and where it snows more days per year than any state that claims to be “Southern” ever , ever should .

Jewish transplants from NYC love Atlanta for some weird reason. I read somewhere that Atlanta has the second highest number of Jewish residents living there, only behind Miami if you count that as a southern city.

Nola could be second if they didn’t split off Hammond, Slidell-mandeville-Covington areas.
Then Greenville and Spartanburg, SC should be lumped together. They are pretty close. That would keep the Upstate as #2.

So Tennessee can’t be considered Deep South because most of it gets cold? I guess this make senses since the OP’s list is pretty arbitrary. At any rate, I’d consider Memphis part of the Deep South.

Yeah. Never mind you have to drive for like 45 minutes of nothing to get to Hammond from New Orleans. They should all be mixed.
You might hit some questions as to why it wouldn’t fit into Baton Rouge, but frick logic. NO can have Hammond and BR can take Lafayette.

Is that true? Granted I haven’t lived there in 30 years, but I always thought Mandeville, Covington, and Slidell considered themselves part of New Orleans?
It’s just denial.
Trying to have their cake and eat it too.
How many of those same people would refuse to live in NO for free? Most of the people who want to identify as being in NO, live where they do specifically to get away from NO.

Soon to be Baton Rouge-St George MSA. Just to piss off the Baton Rouge people.

No wonder locals push back on any developers wanting to build big apt complexes. Petal, MS sure did, so did this one town outside of ATL. They know those places can go low-rent and bring trouble.
